A recent poll conducted by Shiksha among NIFT 2025 aspirants has provided insights into their expected scores ahead of the official result announcement. With more than 500 respondents, the poll reflects varied confidence levels among candidates regarding their performance in the entrance exam.

Shiksha Poll: How much do you think you will score in NIFT 2025 exam?

  • 28% of candidates expect to score more than 70 out of 100, indicating strong confidence in their performance.

  • 22% predict their score will be in the range of 60 to 70, showing optimism about securing a competitive score.

  • 15% believe they will achieve 50 to 60 marks, placing them in a moderate performance bracket.

  • 14% estimate a score between 40 and 50, suggesting a relatively cautious approach to their performance assessment.

  • 22% of respondents are uncertain about their scores and are waiting for the official results before making any assumptions.

The poll highlights a mix of confidence and uncertainty among test-takers. While a significant percentage of students expect high scores, many remain unsure about their performance. The official results will provide a clear picture of the cutoff trends and qualifying scores required for admissions.

Q:   When will the NIFT 2026 entrance exam be conducted?
A:

The written tests for the NIFT 2026 exam will be held in the second week of February 2026 (tentative). The detailed schedule will also be released soon by NTA. The written tests comprise a General Ability Test (GAT) and a Creative Ability Test (CAT). GAT is mandatory for all candidates, but CAT is only required for BDes and MDes candidates. 

The GAT test is considered in a computer-based mode, whereas the CAT is offline based. Note that scores of the written exams will be used to shortlist candidates for a Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

Q:   When do I need to start my preparation for NIFT 2026 exam?
A:

The NIFT exam is among the competitive and is also considered among the toughest. So, it is recommended that the candidate starts their exam preparation early. NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, the exam will be very difficult. So, start early. The same goes for the GAT.

Q:   When will be the NIFT 2024 exam be conducted?
A:

The written tests for the NIFT 2024 exam was held on February 5, 2024. The written tests comprised a General Ability Test (GAT) and a Creative Ability Test (CAT). GAT is mandatory for all candidates, but CAT is only required for B. Des and M. Des candidates.
