IIT Bombay Partners with Waaree Energies to Pioneer Sustainable Solar Technologies

Waaree Energies and IIT Bombay will jointly develop an advanced setup for fabricating and characterizing high-efficiency perovskite solar cells.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has partnered with Waaree Energies Limited, India’s largest manufacturer of solar PV modules, on a strategic CSR initiative focused on advanced research and development in solar perovskite cells. The collaboration will see both organizations jointly create an advanced Fabrication and Characterisation setup for high-efficiency perovskite solar cells. Through this initiative, Waaree Energies aims to inspire young engineers and scientists with a passion for clean energy, particularly solar power.
The initiative is designed to serve as a model for innovation and sustainability, inspiring India’s next generation. Perovskite solar cells, known for their exceptional light absorption and efficiency potential, represent a significant breakthrough in solar technology. The setup at IIT Bombay aims to redefine the future of solar power, providing a cutting-edge platform for students and researchers to develop clean energy solutions, and positioning India as a global leader in renewable technology.
