IIT Delhi Partners with Haryana’s Technical Institutions to Advance Teaching & Research

IIT Delhi is providing skill enhancement and research-driven learning opportunities for teachers from technical institutions in Haryana, fostering academic growth and innovation.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi welcomed a group of 170 teachers from various technical institutions across Haryana as part of the ‘Faculty Exposure Visit’ programme initiated by the state government. This visit, aimed at enhancing faculty skills and fostering research-driven teaching methodologies, provided educators with an opportunity to engage with IIT Delhi’s advanced academic and research ecosystem.
The programme was officially launched by Haryana’s Education Minister, Mahipal Dhandha, underscoring the state’s commitment to strengthening technical education through faculty development and institutional collaboration. The visits, organised and facilitated by the Academic Office at IIT Delhi, provided the teachers with a comprehensive opportunity to explore the Institute’s state-of-the-art laboratories.
During their visit, they had the chance to witness firsthand the cutting-edge research and technological advancements taking place across various disciplines. Additionally, the teachers participated in interactive sessions with eminent faculty members from different departments, where they were able to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange ideas, and gain valuable insights into the latest trends and teaching methodologies in the field of technical education. This hands-on experience allowed them to deepen their understanding of academic excellence and research-driven teaching practices at one of India’s leading institutions.
Faculty Exposure Visit Programme at IIT Delhi
On the first day of the visit, 65 faculty members specializing in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Instrumentation & Control had the opportunity to explore the advanced laboratories within the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi. On the second day, the teachers were divided into two cohorts, with one group visiting the Computer Science and Engineering Department and the other exploring the Chemical Engineering Department, where they engaged with faculty and witnessed the latest research and innovations.
In addition to the departmental visits, the teachers were introduced to the training and placement activities at IIT Delhi, where the Office of Career Services provided insights into the Institute’s comprehensive career development programs and industry collaborations.
Yes, IIT Delhi is a good institute for MSc aspirants. The institute has got a good overall rank from NIRF in the 2023 rankings. It has been ranked at the third spot among top colleges in the country. Moreover, IIT Delhi also provide placements support. As per its 2023 placement report, the median package offered to PG (2-year) candidates was INR 12.50 LPA. Some of the top companies that participate in its placements drive are Microsoft, Cisco, Accenture, etc.
Yes, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi offers PhD in full-time and part-time modes. The doctoral-level course is made available by almost all the departments of the institute. Candidates who meet the required eligibility criteria and have the relevant work experience become eligible for admission. Currently, IIT Delhi Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology department is offering joint PhD programme with the University of Queensland.
