Decent college with a good curriculum.
Placements: I am doing B.A. (Computer Application and Maths), but there are not that many placements. But some companies come for an interview like TCS, Infosys etc. But of course, you need good skills for that, plus try to speak in English with your friend, it'll help you in future.
Infrastructure: College is nice, but not that great. If you are imagining it to be like north campus, then you're expectations will gonna fall short soon. Also, hostel is right now in construction phase, so maybe in the next 1 year it will be prepared. Canteen is nice though, but a little expensive and also sometimes taste is not up to the mark and water facilities in college are the worst in my opinion.
Faculty: Faculty members and students are both very nice, I would say everyone is so friendly there, so you can consider coming here if you want to focus on your course, but the college is very strict for attendance, you're attendance gonna count as a mark in the exam paper, so you have to come regularly. Teachers are all nice.
Other: Students are nice in my opinion and what I've heard is fests are not that great, but freshers party is nice, and you'll enjoy it, so don't worry about fun.

Experience at the South Campus of DU.
Placements: There are about 60 students in my specific course, yet about 500 in all combinations of B.A. programme degree. The lowest placement is around 1.5 LPA, and the highest in my specified course could go up to 7 LPA, I believe in 2025, and mostly medical or organisational MNCs hire from my course as their HR or assistant counsellors. About 30-40 per cent of students apply for the internship and get into it after the 3rd year or so The top roles are mostly in the field of psychology if you want it directly after 3rd year.
Infrastructure: There are 3 buildings here, 2 are pre-existing, of about 3 floors each and 1 new building that was recently finished in 2025 mid-year and is of about 7-8 floors. All of them are with lifts, and the infrastructure is good, but there are a lot of muddy ways in the rainy season. Otherwise, it's fine. There is 1 common ground of football and 1 main canteen with 2 small shops, as well as a utility area.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified with their doctorate and Ph.D. Degrees. They are good at explaining the topics and concepts, and most teachers are sweet and well-versed in both English and Hindi. The course is relevant because of its demand, I guess. The exams are of moderate difficulty in my course, I would say. We can get help from previous year questions as well, and seniors help too.
Other: The course is in high demand, and the professional need for this course is as well. We have quite a few options while we opt for this course, hence, this course is quite flexible for what it offers, and not all universities have this course. Events here in university are great, including the selection as well and fest with cultural activities is fun.

I will say Miranda is the best.
Placements: B.A. Honours Sociology is more about research work, it puts emphasis on making students well enough to do research work, as sociology is based on research. Our students rarely sit for placement as they mostly go for higher studies and research work abroad.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is one of the best in the Delhi University. We have different kinds of labs, even language labs, and we have separate department rooms, which make it easier for students to reach out to department teachers and related information as well. We have a separate section for sociology in our library. The seats in the hostel for my course are comparatively fewer in number, but this time they have introduced more hostel seats for the course, so its pretty good to hear this time.
Faculty: My course, I would say I love the faculty, their behaviour while teaching, and they are normally so considerate, like they are always open to changes and are ready to listen to our opinion and make a decision based on it. They are super good at teaching children to make use of academic opportunities and help us at the best.
Other: I would say Miranda is the best. It provides students with so many opportunities to learn new skills and grow at their best here and go rock the world. I am so proud to mention that Miranda is the only college to give their girls voting rights, which shows that it supports good politics and gives their girls the opportunity to be a part of shaping the politics and environment around them.

A glimpse of Shyam Lal College.
Placements: Every year, our college conducts a placement drive for students, and many companies come there to select the students. That drive held for 3-4 days, and many students got the placement mostly from the commerce department. Students also got internships in many companies and a good stipend too.
Infrastructure: Our college campus is very big. We have two big buildings, an open auditorium, many gardens, a big sports ground, labs, Wi-Fi availability, and many more. College doesn't have a hostel that's a drawback. College provides medical facilities. Canteen is also there, and the prices are very reasonable. Sports facilities are also there.
Faculty: Teachers help a lot with solving questions, provide help in practical, and are very supportive of the students. Semester exams are of moderate level, not too tough. Previous year questions help you a lot. Around 80% of students pass the exam and score a good CGPA.

Review of Shyam Lal College, University of Delhi.Β
Placements: There is a Training and Placement Cell where students submit their details and resumes and participate in interview practice sessions. The highest package secured by a student was 7 LPA through off-campus placement. The average package this year was 4 LPA. Most students get roles like sales, consultant, executive, and data entry. Companies such as Flipkart, Burger King, and other small ventures recruit here. Around 60% of students get jobs through the college or their own efforts, while the rest pursue master’s degrees or prepare for government exams.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college campus is really beautiful. It has a red building, many grounds, greenery, plants, trees, and a nursery. The library is my favorite place because it is fully air-conditioned and stocked with books on all subjects. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus, although the network can be slow in some areas. The canteen is now air-conditioned but not very efficient; the food is okay and affordable. There is no hostel facility provided by the college, but there are many PG accommodations available near the campus at affordable rates, where landlords offer three meals a day, safety, Wi-Fi, and clean water.
Faculty: Faculty members are really good and helpful. They teach even after classes and answer phone calls to clear queries. Some teachers can be aggressive, but that’s true everywhere. My course includes subtopics of Political Science and additional subjects that students choose based on their own interests. My college follows a semester exam system, with around 7–8 theory exams per semester.
Other: The crowd is really good and helpful. There is a safe environment for both genders, and many extracurricular activities are available, such as NCC, NSS, societies, clubs, events, fests, and competitions. You can spend amazing years here during your graduation.

    Overall, the college is good.
Placements: My college is women's college which provides a good and safe environment for girls. The major priority of the college is to safeguard the students. Without any permission, you can't enter in college because of safety protocol. Students also get the opportunity to get internships. Students join NGO for social work and many other welfare work.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of the college are good with multi-storey building and many classes. Labs, library, and labs for computer science students are available with a strong Wi-Fi connection. Food quality is good in canteen. Medical facilities are also available for students. College organised many different sports too.
Faculty: Teachers of this college are very helpful and kind in nature. They provide sources to students in their studies and help during exams by providing the best sources and books for the preparation of the exams. You can easily score in this paper just by studying a month before exams, and the paper is overall based on current affairs so you have a good knowledge about the current events in the world.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to pursue a career in political science. The best thing about this course is that it provides knowledge about how government should work and what the responsibilities of government are. The campus crowd is nice. College organised many different activities, and also provide scholarships to students. College fest is one of the best parts of this college.

Q: Β  Does DU conduct entrance exam for BA (hons) in political science?
    A:

DU does not conduct any entrance exam for admission to BA or BA (Hons) courses. However, it accepts the scores obtained by the students in the CUET UG exam for UG admission at any affiliated college. Having said that, students can get admission to Delhi University even if they didn't apply for CUET. While the chances of getting admission will be much lower, here are some of the ways a student can get admission to Delhi University without CUET:

    1. Take a chance on the spot admission: You can try your luck at the spot admission process, which is conducted by Delhi University after the CUET results are announced. However, the number of seats available under the spot admission process is very limited, so your chances of getting admission are slim.
    2. Apply for admission through the Delhi University School of Open Learning (SOL): The Delhi University School of Open Learning (SOL) offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses that do not require CUET scores. However, the admission process for SOL is more competitive than the regular admission process.
Q: Β  Are DU applications out?
    A:

DU University registrations via CUET usually begins in February every year. Soon after the release of the notification, the CUET application process commences online. Candidates willing to appear for CUET 2025 exam must ensure to fill out the application form online when released. Interested candidates were able to apply online on the official website of CUET UG and CUET PG.

Students can read about CUET UG application process and CUET PG application process to understand the procedure. Followed by the application forms of CUET UG and CUET PG, DU starts the DU CSAS registration for final college and course allotment of students who qualify the exams. The process will began after the release of CUET-UG and CUET-PG results which are expected to release in July.

Q: Β  If I have to apply for BA (Hons) in Economics in DU. What is the procedure to pursue the same?
    A:

The application process of Delhi University affiliated colleges for its BA and BA (Hons) courses start with the registration process of CUET. The first step is to register for the CUET by visiting the official website of the exam. Find a step-by-step guide to fill out the CUET 2023 application form in the following section:

Step 1: Visit the official website of CUET and click on the "New Registration" tab. (https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/)

Step 2: Fill in all the required details such as personal and contact details and generate a password to complete the registration process.

Step 3: After completing the registration, move ahead to fill out the CUET application form by entering all the details in the given slots then click on “Save & Proceed”.

Step 4: Upload all the scanned documents including photograph and signature.

Step 5: Select any three courses and universities and after previewing the application form, click on “Submit & Make Payment” to proceed.

Step 6: Complete the application process by paying an application amount through online mode.

Those who qualify the exam are required to register on the DU CSAS portal (admission.uod.ac.in) for the final admission and college preference filling process. Based on the score in CUET UG, students receive admission calls in various rounds.
