DU BA Eligibility & Highlights 2026
BA at Delhi University is offered in over 180 combinations. The UG-level course is available in different specialiations, including Political Science, Psychology, Journalism, French, etc. Delhi University BA Science course admissions is done based on performance in the CUET exam. There are BA (H) courses available at the university as well. The students wanting to take admission should select desired DU college and course combination during CUET form filling. For eligibility, the student must be a Class 12 or equivalent exam pass from a recognised board.

DU BA Admission Dates 2026

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.
However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).
For seat allocation at DU, students are required to lock their college and course preferences after the result is out. Delhi University will consider normalised scores provided by NTA to calculate the merit scores as per programme specific eligibility. The highest possible preference will be provisionally allocated to the candidates considering the following
criteria:
- Program-Specific merit
- Category of the students (UR/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ Minority)
- Availability of seats
- Any other allocation rules, policies, or criteria citied by (CSAS (UG)- 2025) or University of Delhi
CUET UG is compulsory for admission in the affiliated colleges of University of Delhi for UG courses. Delhi University introduced admissions through CUET scores in 2024 for candidates who seek admission. Candidates will not be granted admission on the basis of merit of class 12th. However, there are some specific percentage criteria needed to appear for the CUET exam for class 12th candidates which is given below:
- Students must have passed Class 12 or appeared in Class 12 from a recognized board in any stream to take admission to bachelor’s degree programmes in the central, state, private or deemed universities.
- For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50% in Class 12; for SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% in Class 12 to be eligible for the CUET 2025. For BTch programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45%, and that of the reserved category candidates is 40%.

Delhi University offers UG courses based on CUET UG exam. Based on the DU B.Com Hons. cutoff 2024, It is not possible to get into DU with 500 score as the cutoffs for all the affiliated colleges under Delhi University were comparatively above than the score of 500. Further, DU CUET UG cutoff 2024 ranged from 608 to 758 for the General AI category candidates for B.Com Hons. The selection for DU BA admission is done based on scores of CUET-UG. Students must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the UG course. 2: Appear for the CUET exam
In the next step, aspirants should appear for the CUET-UG exam. The entrance exam is conducted in multiple phases as per the number of candidates registered for the entrance test.
3: How to apply for DU UG CSAS?
Candidates can check the step-by-step process mentioned below:
3.1: Go to the official CSAS portal of DU, i.e., https://ugadmission.uod.ac.in/ and register as a new user.
3.2: Fill out college preferences and course combinations.
3.3: There is a one-time CSAS(UG) application fee that students are required to pay. The non-refundable fee is mentioned in the below table.
4: DU CSAS Counselling Process
DU BA admission is through the Common Seat Allocation System of the University of Delhi. Firstly, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission.

5: Final Seat Confirmation by Students
Once the DU-affiliated college approves, candidates must pay the 'Admission Fee' to confirm their seats. The seat allotment is carried out as per the DU Seat Availability. Delhi University BA fees vary depending upon the allotted college. Hence, the total tuition fees range between INR 540 and INR 1.5 lakh. DU registrations via CUET 2023 for UG programmes began on Feb 10, 2023 and were open till Mar 30, 2023. Additionally, for admission to PG courses, DU CUET-PG registrations for the 2023 session started on Mar 20 and were open till May 5. Interested candidates were able to apply online on the official website of CUET UG and CUET PG.
Followed by the application forms of CUET UG and CUET PG, DU has already started the DU CSAS registration for final college and course allotment of students who qualified the CUET UG exam. The process will begin soon for CUET PG qualifiers as well.
After the declaration of CUET (UG) results by NTA, the University of Delhi opened a preference-filling phase on its official website. Candidates are required to login on their CSAS (UG) dashboard to choose the courses they are willing to take admission if allocated. Candidates must give their preference for the course + college for every UG course selected by them.
For filling the preferences of course & college combinations in which they are willing to take admission, they must do the following:
- Choose multiple course + college combinations (It is in the best interest of the candidate to fill the maximum number of preferences)
- Take utmost care while selecting the course + college combinations as the order of selection will also determine the preference order.
- Reorder the preferences to prioritize the preference order of course + college combinations
- The submitted preference order will determine the allocation of seat
Candidate must confirm their order of preferences for the course + college combinations by clicking on 'Submit' cutton on/ before the last day of the preference-filling. It is important to note - Editing the course + college combination preference list after the deadline of preference-filling will not be allowed.
Delhi University MA admission till 2021 was offered in two categories: Direct Admission and Through Entrance Test. Also, along with the entrance exam, interview rounds are also conducted for admission to Delhi University MA programme. There is no minimum age limit to take admission to the MA programme offered by the university. However, DU PG admission 2022-23 was subject to a valid score in DUET as announced by the University. Starting 2023, the admission process of DU for its postgraduate courses, such as MA will be subject to the CUET-PG exam conducted by NTA.

No, the University of Delhi does not have a provision for direct admissions. Candidates seeking admission to the UG-level programme are required to take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply and appear for the national-level examination. The results are then announced based on candidates' scores.
To check DU BA CUET results, aspirants need to login to the CSAS portal. The course and college allotment is done as per the preferences filled by the candidate in the CUET application. After selection, students can get documents verified and pay the fees for seat confirmation.

- Overall performance of the test takers (pass percentage/ score range, etc.)
CUET cut off is based on the percentile of the candidate. To calculate the CUET percentile following formula is applied:
100*Number of candidates appeared in the session with a raw score is equal to or less than a candidate/ total number of candidates appeared for CUET UG.
The University of Delhi Common Seat Allocation System registrations 2024 will begin soon. While the university conducted DU UG admissions 2024 via CUET scores through the CSAS portal last year as well, this is the first time DU will conduct DU PG admissions 2024 through CUET. Eligible students seeking DU admission 2024 have to register through the DU CSAS official website.
DU University registrations via CUET usually begins in February every year. Soon after the release of the notification, the CUET application process commences online. BA or BA (Hons) aspirants are required to apply for CUET UG before registering on the DU portal. After registration for the exam, candidates must pay the registration fee which is as follows:
