NIFT PG Entrance Exam 2026 - NTA conducted the NIFT PG 2026 entrance exam on February 8 and declared the result for Stage 1 today. Candidates planning to pursue M.Des course had to clear both NIFT GAT and NIFT CAT, whereas M.FTech and M.F.M candidates need clear GAT.

- The scores of the written exam will be used to shortlist candidates for a Personal Interview.

NFT Stege 1 result 2026 has been released in online mode only. Candidates can download it by following the process given below:

- In the log-in window that opens, enter your application number and date of birth
- The results of NIFT PG 2026 will be displayed on the screen
- Download and take a printout of the result.

Candidates will be shortlisted for NIFT 2026 Studio Test/ Interview based on performance in NIFTEE Stage 1. NIFT 2026 written exams comprise the GAT and CAT exams.

Yes, the NTA will upload the carbon copy of the OMR answer sheet along with the answer key.
The candidate could download their OMR sheets by logging into the portal using their candidate log-in details. The carbon copy of the OMR answer sheet as the name indicates is a record of the candidates responses in the entrance exam. The OMR sheet can be used by the candidate in conjunction with the GAT answer key to check the status of the answers (correct or incorrect). Next the candidate can use the official marking scheme to calculate probable score.

NIFT PG Entrance Exam 2026 - Admission Schedule
The current and upcoming dates for the NIFT PG 2026 exam are updated in the table below.
Commonly asked questions
NTA released the NIFT 2026 Provisional Answer Key on February 17, 2026. The objection window was open from February 17, 2026 to February 19, 2026. Last year, the Answer Key was released on February 15, 2025. The answer key is released on the NTA NIFT Website.
NTA doesn't allow any objection window against the final key. This means, the keys included in the final key are final and officially the correct answers to questions asked in the GAT exam.
The FINAL answer key of NIFT 2026 will be released tentatively in the last week of June 2026.
The candidate can use the answers given in the final key to calculate the number of correct attempts and consequently the probable score.
Note, the NTA will release the recorded responses and NIFT 2026 QP around the 3rd week of February 2026.
The NIFTs currently offers the following specializations at the B.Des level - Fashion Design,
Leather Design, Accessory Design, Textile Design, Knitwear Design, and Fashion Communication.
Admission to the above courses will be on the basis of NIFT 2025 scores. Currently, there are 18 participating institutes that offer a combined intake of 5,289 seats (including domestic and NRI/Foreign national seats). Note that NRI/Foreign national don’t need to appear in the NIFT entrance exam.

To calculate the scores from NIFT Provisional Answer Key:
- Download the NIFT answer key from the NTA NIFT Website.
- Compare your answers with the answer key to calculate the number of correct attempts.
- Using the NTA NIFT marking scheme, calculate probable scores.
- Probable scores can be used by the candidate to assess the chances of admission.
Candidates must remember the following points for NIFT.
- Answer key will only be released for the GAT paper
- No answer keys will be released for the CAT paper
- Answer key has to be downloaded online from the NID admission portal
- Candidate will be given the option to challenge the NIFT answer key
- To make a challenge, the candidate will have to pay INR 500 per challenge. The final answer key will be released after considering all challenges filed by candidates.
Candidates will be able to check the cutoff for NIFT Delhi on the website of NIFT: nift.admissions.nic.in. The opening and closing rank of all the programmes is given on this page. This year, NIFT 2026 cutoff is expected to be on the lower side.
The National Instituite of Fashion Technology will release the NIFT 2026 at the time of seat allotment and counseling.
The cut-offs will be available institute and category-wise for all the program at nift.admissions.nic.in.
The cut-offs will be prepared by considering factors like the seat intake, the merit rank of candidates, admission category, etc. Note that if the seat intake is increase the cut-off would likely go down and vice versa.

NIFT PG 2026 Admit Card
NIFT PG Admit Card 2026 was out on February 04, 2026 for all the PG programmes like M.Des, M.F.Tech and MFM. It was released on the NTA NIFT Website: exams.nta.nic.in/niftee. Candidates can download the NIFT PG Hall Ticket by entering their Application ID and Password. The admit card contains details like Name, Application number, Programme, timing, reporting time, etc.
It is mandatory for the candidates to take NIFT PG 2026 Admit Card with them along with the Photo ID proof to the NIFT Exam Centre.

NIFT PG 2026 Answer Key
NIFT PG Answer Key was released by NTA after the conduct of the NIFTEE Stage 1 Exam: GAT. The Answer Key was released in the form of a PDF. The answer keys was available on the NTA NIFT portal. Candidates were allowed to view the answer key and submit their objections, if any, regarding any of the questions. Once the objection window is closed, no objections are entertained from the candidates. No objections are accepted from candidates through any other mode such as email, postal letter, etc.

How to Prepare for NIFT PG 2026 Exam?
The candidate can prepare for the NIFT PG exam 2026 at home.
- To start NIFT exam preparation, the candidate needs to follow the updated syllabus and pattern.
- Next, make a study timetable taking into account the syllabus and difficulty level.
- It is recommended that the candidate take notes during preparation, as these notes will come in handy for quick revision.
- Solve as many sample papers as you can. Also, solve previous years’ papers to understand the types of questions asked, the extent of the syllabus, and specific questions.
- Close to the exam, you can solve the NIFT 2026 mock tests.
NIFT PG Entrance Exam 2026 - Counselling
- The National Institute of Fashion Technology will organise the counselling for NIFT PG 2026.
- The counselling process will be held online and will be a centralized process for the NIFT 2026 participating colleges.
- Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must register for counselling and participate in a choice-filling process. As part pf the choice-filling process, the candidate needs to select their academic program and campus.
- The entries must be in the order of priority.
- The NIFT PG 2026 seat allotment will be based on the merit rank of the candidate, seats available, NIFT PG merit rank 2026, etc.
- The candidate will have to pay the seat-acceptance fee and confirm the seat within the given deadline. If the payment is not made, the allocation will be cancelled and allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.
NIFT PG 2026 Application Form
The application form for NIFT PG 2026 is closed at exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT with late fees. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria could apply for the exam before the last date. Also, when filling in the form, the candidate must make sure that they are using only genuine and verifiable information, as otherwise, applications may be rejected.

The process to fill out the NIFT application form 2026 for PG courses is given below.

- Enter Aadhaar details and other basic information to register and create an applicant account.

There is no fixed number of mock tests one should take before the NIFT Entrance Exam. A candidate should take at least one mock test daily for the NIFT Entrance Preparation. 10-15 mock tests will really help in preparing for the exam.
