The NTA has released the admission schedule for the NIFT 2025 entrance exam, including the application dates.
With regular fees, application were open from Nov 22-January 6, 2025. However, with late fees, application were accepted up to January 9, 2025.
Candidattes applying a late fee will have to pay an additional INR 5,000.
NIFT has released the program-wise eligibility criteria that candidate needs to meet for admission to the design programme they are applying to. The National Institute of Fashion Technology currently offers B. Des, M.Des B.FTech M.FTech, and MFM courses at its 18 participating NIFTs.
The candidate was given the option to edit the NIFT 2025 application form from January 10-16, 2025.
Using the NIFT 2025 application edit option, the candidate was able to edit or correct some of the information in the application form. Some of the details the candidate can edit include - name, date of birth, category, state domicile, etc. However, the candidate is not allowed to edit the exam city. The schedule for the application correction will be notified by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) at its admission portal - niftadmissions.in.

NIFT PG 2026 Application Form
The application form for NIFT PG 2026 is open online at exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria may apply for the exam before the last date. Also, when filling in the form, the candidate must make sure that they are using only genuine and verifiable information, as otherwise, applications may be rejected.
How to apply for NIFT PG 2026
The step-wise process to fill out the NIFT application form 2026 for PG courses is given below.
- Go to the NIFT 2026 admission portal
- Click on the “Click Here to Register/ Log-in (UG/PG)” tab
- A registration form will open
- Enter Aadhaar details and other basic information to register and create an applicant account.
- Next, log in to the account and fill in personal, academic, and contact details.
- Select an exam city from the drop-down menu.
- Upload documents.
- Pay the application fee and submit the application form.
NIFT PG Application Fee 2026
The candidate has to pay the application fee when filling out the form. Note that the application fee is non-refundable. The application fee can be paid online using a credit card, debit card, or net banking.

NIFT PG Exam Center 2026
The candidate will have to select an exam centre for NIFT 2025 when filling out the application form.
After completing the registration process, log in to the application portal and click on the exam centre selection option. Then select your preferred city from the drop down menu.
The NIFT 2025 exam will be conducted across 82 cities in India. Note that each of these exam cities may have one or more exam centres.
The name, address, and reporting time for the NIFT 2025 exam center will be mentioned in the admit card.
The NIFT 2024 application form will open shortly. When filling out the form, the candidate will have to upload the following documents.
Self-attested certificates of qualifying examination, i.e.10+2/degree (marks sheet and certificate)
In case the candidate has appeared for qualifying exam/compartment (of final year/semester) and the result is due, the date sheet /admit card for examination has to be uploaded.
Birth certificate (Secondary School Mark Sheet & Certificate) (Original and Photocopy).
SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD certificate that is issued in the name of candidate.
Certificate of Medical Fitness to be signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format.
Self declaration for seeking provisional admission only in case, the result of qualifying examination is yet to be declared.
Additionally, the candidate will also have to upload an undertaking regarding anti-ragging and refund of fees.
As per the current system, there is no scope to pay the NIFT 2025 application fee using demand draft.
The candidate has to pay the NIFT application fee 2025 online using online payment gateway, including credit card, debit card, or net banking.
Note that unless the application fee has been paid successfully, the NIFT 2025 application form filling process will not be considered complete. The NIFT 2025 application fee for general category is INR 3,000. Meanwhile, SC, ST, and PwD candidates only need to pay INR 1,500. It is recommended that candidates pay the fee specific to their category, or else the candidate may not be considered for admission.
The NTA will not edit/ modify/ alter any information entered by the candidate under any circumstances. It will also not entertain requests for change in information. So, you must exercise utmost caution when filling up the form.
Request for corrections made by any candidates through Post/Fax/ WhatsApp/ Email/ by hand will not be entertained by NTA.
The application process for NIFT 2025 will be conducted online. After completing the application process, inclduing payment of fees, the candidate must download a printout of the application form.
In fact, the NIFT prospectus prescribes the candidate to “apply on time and keep a printout / photocopy of application form for further reference along with proof of payment.”
The NIFT 2024 application form is for admission to the B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses. There are 18 participating NIFTs that currently have a combined intake of 5289 seats.
NTA is likely to conduct the NIFT PG 2026 exam in 82 cities across India. The list of exam centers will be updated in the NIFT 2026 exam prospectus. The candidate can select their choice of exam cities in order of priority.

How to Prepare for NIFT PG 2026 Exam
The candidate can prepare for the NIFT PG exam 2026 at home.
- To start exam preparation, the candidate needs to follow the updated syllabus and pattern.
- Next, make a study timetable taking into account the syllabus and difficulty level.
- It is recommended that the candidate take notes during preparation as these notes will come in handly for quick revision.
- Solve as many sample papers as you can. Also, solve previous years’ papers to understand the types of questions asked, the extent of the syllabus, and specific questions.

NIFT PG Entrance Exam 2026 - Result

- The FINAL result of the NIFT PG 2026 exam will be declared after considering the performance in the written exams (CAT and GAT) and the personal interview.

NIFT PG Entrance Exam 2026 - Counselling
- The National Institute of Fashion Technology will organize the counselling for NIFT PG 2026.
- The counselling process will be held online and will be a centralized process for the NIFT 2026 participating colleges.
- Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must register for counseling and participate in a choice-filling process. As part pf the choice-filling process, the candidate needs to select their academic program and campus.
- The entries must be in the order of priority.
- The NIFT PG 2026 seat allotment will be based on the merit rank of the candidate, seats available, NIFT PG merit rank 2026, etc.
- The candidate will have to pay the seat-acceptance fee and confirm the seat within the given deadline. If the payment is not made, the allocation will be canceled and allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.
