The GATE 2027 Reasoning and Comprehension syllabus (XH-B1) is compulsory for all XH candidates (Humanities and Social Sciences). The section tests the candidate's ability to comprehend and interpret written information - skills critical to research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Questions in XH-B1 will comprise of the following -

Negative marking implies for MCQs only. For one mark MCQ- 1/3rd mark will be deducted and for 2 mark MCQ - 2/3rd mark will be deducted. There is no negative marking for MSQs and NATs. Also, no partial marking is offered to MSQs. |
