There are 19,000 plus members registered with IITBAA (India Institute of Technology Bombay Alumni Association).

IIT Bombay Alumni Association (IITBAA) was founded in 2001. There is a great connection between the institution and its alumni. The alumni association, in partnership with an incredibly dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, works to connect alumni, support students, and provide an amazing institute experience through a variety of events, programs, and services. There are 19,000 plus members registered with IITBAA.

The institute and its graduates benefit from a lively and engaged alumni network. Our alumni make a difference at IIT Bombay, whether they are engaging with the institute or its student body, attending events, partnering with the institute on several legacy projects, or volunteering. The alumni association is constantly looking for new methods to serve alumni by providing social, educational, and professional activities that appeal to our diverse membership.

Objectives of Alumni Association at IIT Bombay

- To encourage contact among alumni members and to strengthen ties between alumni and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

- To stimulate, promote, and facilitate teaching, research, and other institute activities. 

Q:   What is IIT Bombay famous for?
A:

IIT Bombay is a prominent Engineering institute in India. The institute is famous for several things, such as its academic excellence. IIT Bombay has been consistently ranked among the top institutes in India for offering good Engineering courses. The institute has a challenging and rigorous curriculum which covers a wide range of Engineering disciplines. The institute has a vast and diverse alumni network spread across globe. The institute has a vibrant student life with a range of extracurricular activities. Overall, IIT Bombay is famous for its academic excellence, alumni network, beautiful campus and vibrant student life.

Q:   Is BDes available at IIT Bombay?
A:

Yes, BDes is available at IIT Bombay. It is a four-year full-time course spread across eight semester. IIT Bombay offers BDes through IDC School of Design at the UG level. It also offers five-year integrated BDes + MDes programme spread across 10 semesters. The option of doing a dual degree, is available at the end of third year. Candidates who have completed Class 12 can apply for IIT Bombay BDes courses.

Q:   Can I get IIT Bombay for MBA?
A:

IIT Bombay offers MBA for a duration of two years divided into four semesters. The institute offers MBA through Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM). The selection for the candidates for MBA admission will be carried out in two phases.

  • Aspirants will be shortlisted for a personal interview round based on CAT scores.
  • The final selection will be based on the candidate’s composite score of different parameters, including CAT score, academic performance and work experience.

The HSS department at IITBombay is introducing the Master of Arts by Research (MA. Res) with precisely this emphasis. The faculty members in the department represent diverse areas of expertise and have considerable experience teaching with an emphasis on research skills while accommodating disciplinary crossovers with ease. This is especially important since many of the concerns of the Humanities and Social Sciences requireamulti-disciplinary approach.
