With JEE Main 2021 to be conducted in four sessions i.e. February, March, April and May, students must have a study plan so that they improve their percentile in each session. There is no restriction on the number of sessions that a student can appear for JEE Main 2021. Gap between Each Session of JEE Main 2021
Before checking the preparation strategy, it is advisable to have an idea of the number of days between each session of JEE Main 2021.

Candidates have an option to appear for all four sessions but candidates can either appear for four, any three sessions or any two sessions. So, students must have a different strategy as per the number of sessions they are appearing for the JEE Main 2021. The below tips will help students understand the study plan for all the sessions.
JEE Main 2021 Personalised Preparation Strategy for all four Sessions
If students are appearing for all four sessions then they are left with three more attempts this year. In case students feel that they could perform in the February session then they have three more chances. Students can improve their score in every next session of JEE Main. One thing that every student must keep in mind that they have only one month between the two sessions except the March one (only 16 days left).
For March session, students must try to revise the entire syllabus and attempt as many mock tests as possible. There are only 16 days left for the upcoming session of JEE Main 2021 so they must not start any new topic to get confused. Candidates should also practise previous year papers during this time to strengthen the concepts/topics they have studied so far.
For the other two Sessions of April and May, students can utilise the time between the two exams by referring to the following tips:
- First 15 days: Attempt sample papers/previous year papers/test series with a thorough revision of JEE Main 2021 syllabus.
- Last 15 days: Quick revision and attempt mock tests.
JEE Main 2021 Preparation Strategy for students appearing in Three Sessions
Some students may have chosen to appear for three sessions of JEE Main 2021 instead of four due to the board exams stress. For such students, the strategy can be as follows.
In case students have around two months between the two sessions of JEE Main 2021. Candidates can utilise this period not only for revision but also to strengthen their weak topics. Students can divide this period in the following way:
- First 30 days: Focus on less prepared or weak topics to have a better understanding
- Next 15 days: Attempt sample papers/previous year papers/test series with a thorough revision of JEE Main 2021 syllabus.
- Last 15 days: Quick revision and attempt mock tests.
In case the duration between the two sessions is around one month then it can be utilised in the following way:
- First 15 days: Attempt sample papers/previous year papers/test series with a thorough revision of JEE Main 2021 syllabus.
- Last 15 days: Quick revision and attempt mock tests.
JEE Main 2021 Preparation Strategy for Two Phases
If students have already appeared for the JEE Main Feb session then they are left with only one phase. Students can use the tips below to prepare for the exam.
For March session, students must try to revise the entire syllabus and attempt as many mock tests as possible. There are only 16 days left for the upcoming session of JEE Main 2021 so they must not start any new topic to get confused. Candidates should also practise previous year papers during this time to strengthen the concepts/topics they have studied so far.
For April Session of JEE Main 2021, students are left with 59 days (Two months). Candidates can utilise this period not only for revision but also to strengthen their weak topics. Students can divide this period in the following way:
- First 30 days: Focus on less prepared or weak topics to have a better understanding
- Next 15 days: Attempt sample papers/previous year papers/test series with a thorough revision of JEE Main 2021 syllabus.
- Last 15 days: Quick revision and attempt mock tests.
For May Session, Students have ample time (86 days – Around three months) for effective preparation and revision. However, students appearing for Class 12 this year, have to prepare the study plan to score well in board exams and JEE Main 2021. All such students have to allocate study hours for their JEE Main and Board exam preparation. Aspirants can use the following tips in this regard.
- First 30 days: Go through the entire JEE Main 2021 and Board syllabus and look for any topic left. Prepare and practice such topics well. Keep revising the already prepared syllabus regularly.
- Next 30 days: Focus on less prepared or weak topics to have a better understanding
- Next 15 days: Attempt sample papers/previous year papers/test series with a thorough revision as per the JEE Main 2021 syllabus.
- Last 15 days: Quick revision and attempt mock tests.
