A month before the exam is always crucial, so every student should always create a plan which includes covering all the topics with complete revision and a proper study plan to prepare for any entrance exam like VITEEE with the sole aim to secure a high score.
Scoring high in VITEEE is important as this will ensure your admission with the course of your choice in Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). Sharing some of the tips you can follow for your preparation.

Correct Study Material (Books/Notes)
The syllabus is pretty much same for all entrance exams, hence the study material you have for other entrance exams would suffice for VITEEE. However, if you are still confused, you can refer to the following books for preparation.
Physics - HC Verma (both parts 1 and 2)
Chemistry - NCERT books
Math - RD Sharma (for objective maths)
Apart from these you can also refer to the materials provided by coaching centres. Second hand materials from leading coaching institutes can also be used to prepare for VITEEE.
Examination Structure
VITEEE is a multiple choice based exam. The total number of questions is 125 where one mark is given for each correct answer and there is no negative marking.
The split up of the questions for each subject is as follows:
Physics: 35
Chemistry: 35
Maths/Biology: 40
English: 5
Aptitude: 10
Focus Points (Highest Scoring Topics /Topic wise Weightage & Preparation)
Here, I would suggest you to go through all the topics diligently as you would not want to miss out on easy questions which might be coming from topics with less weightage. Usually, students tend to make a mistake of ignoring subjects with less weightage and focus on subjects with higher weightage where questions would be difficult to solve. So your objective should be to cover all the topics; this would help you in attempting more questions and securing good marks. There are few important topics which you should focus on and study. Some of them are listed below along with the subjects:
Mathematics
- Matrices and Their Applications
- Complex Numbers
- Analytical Geometry of Two Dimensions
- Vector Algebra
- Analytical Geometry in Three Dimensions
- Differential Equations
- Probability
Physics
- Laws of Motion & Work, Power Energy
- Electrostatics
- Magnetic Effects of Electric Current
- Nuclear Physics
- Semi-conductors
- Wave Optics
- Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current
Chemistry
- Atomic Structure
- Coordination Chemistry & Solid State
- Chemical Equilibrium & Chemical Kinetics
- Organic Chemistry
Revision Approach/Study Plan
Always study for board exams and entrance exams separately. Board exams focus on theoretical aspects whereas entrance exams like VITEEE focus on problem-solving abilities. Hence it is imperative to do well in both board exams as well as your entrance tests. One of the best ways to study is to divide your studying hours into parts of 20 minutes each with 5-10 minutes break after each phase. Revise difficult topics first and then target easier ones. Keep a gap of 2 days for revising the same topic. Don’t start to learn any new topic, stick to your strong topics.
Self-analysis (Mock Papers/Sample Papers)
Mock tests are a good measure of how much you are likely to score in the main exam. Take one mock test every alternate day and evaluate the same exhaustively. Analyse your performance extensively, this includes check the questions attempted by you, how many easy questions you could answer and how much time you spent on the hard questions. These are some of the tips that will help you analyse the gaps after each mock test.

In VITEEE, VIT mainly focuses on class 12th syllabus than 11th standard syllabus. To score 300 to 400 marks in VIT exam, we advise to -
- Cover 12th syllabus first
- Solve PYQs and mock test

So basically, the syllabus for SRM, VITEEE, GITAM, and most IIIT entrance exams is not something completely different. All of them are mostly based on your Class 11 and 12 NCERT. If you're preparing for JEE Main, you're already covering a big part of it.
Let me break it down in a simple way.
