Taking a year drop for BITSAT will be a good option as through this, you can get one chance to go for JEE Mains, JEE Advanced and BITS exam.
BITSAT is among one of the top institutes in the country. Hence, making it to BITS will assure a bright future. Although, the preparation in drop year is a real tough job. One may face so much pressure and dilemma while studying. In this article, I will discuss both options, whether one should prefer taking a drop or not and will let you gain clarity for your decision.
First, assume you opt to take a drop year, you will have to face the pressure of working hard throughout the year. Some students take it as an opportunity while others as do or die situation which in my case is wrong. You should ask yourself the question, whether you can handle that pressure? Are you capable of sacrificing a lot and working hard for the exam? Or will you be able to complete this much of syllabus? If yes, then you can enroll yourself in an institute or start studying at home. If the answer to any of the above questions is NO, then I would like you to rethink it. Though, there are a lot of other good colleges as well to choose from. Below are the answers to possible scenarios if you decide to take a college and don't opt for a drop year.

One thing you can do is to wait for the counselling session. You might be underestimating your marks. Sometimes, students leave the counselling in between letting the one with lower marks opt for the seat. Although, while you wait for counselling, I would advise to give other exams too.
Here is the list of good colleges which you can keep with you while counselling:-
- College of Engineering Pune - MHTCET
- Manipal University ( Main campus ) - MOUET
- Lovely Professional University - LPUNEST / JEE Mains ( In whichever your marks are greater will be applicable )
- Amity University - Amity JEE
- Anna University ( Tamil Nadu ) - TNEA
- VIT University - VITEEE
- SRM ( Main campus ) - SRM JEE
- Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi - JNUEE
- Indraprastha University, Delhi - JEE
- LNMIT- Jaipur.
- Jadavpur University- WBJEE
- Delhi University
Now, even if you go for counselling, you will still have a good college with you. There are thousands of students studying in these colleges and some are doing better than students in prestigious universities. Hence, there is nothing inferior to feel about. Also, I would like to suggest that you should go for a better branch than a better campus. Priority should be given to branch in every case as your job and skillset throughout your life will be based on it.
Hope all our readers find it useful. All the best!

To get admission to the BE course at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus, students are required to appear in BITSAT. As per previous years' cutoff stats, it has been analysed that the minimum scores are between 230 and 250. But with 250 marks, the chances are less of getting selected.
