If you are very much sure that you will surely clear JEE advance in the next attempt then only you can start thinking about dropping a year.
You have finally got your score of JEE Advanced in your hand, so, you have to decide what to do next. Your score is low or below your expectation so, you have to figure out whether to try one more time or just check other options.
So here in this article, I will give you an overview of the options you should consider if your score of JEE Advanced is low:
Whether to drop a year or not
Dropping a whole year is a big decision and you should consider all aspects before doing it because it may give you disappointment in the future. First, you should take the guidance of your trusted elders about dropping a year. I would say talk to that person who has experience in it. Your personal passion will also play an important role here if you are very much sure that you will surely clear JEE Advanced in the next attempt then only you can start thinking about dropping a year. If you do not trust yourself that, you can clear JEE advance in next attempt then review your mind. There are so many other colleges are also present in India in which you will surely try but if you are desperately wanted to get admission in IIT then you should drop a year and devote all your energy in studies.

Other colleges you should consider
No doubt, IITs are the best institutes in India and every engineering aspirant wants to get in there. However, unfortunately, not all aspirants are lucky or capable to get admission in IITs. So, you have to consider these colleges also because these are also very reputed and does create good engineers.
So these are the college for engineering you could consider for their faculty and facilities offered:
- Birla Institute of Technology and Science
- Trichy - National Institute of Technology
- Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology
- VIT University - Vellore Institute of Technology
- DTU - Delhi Technological University
Tips to consider admission in these colleges
Yes, for sure these colleges are worth it. All these colleges have great facilities including infrastructure, faculty, placement cells and environment. Eventually, the most important thing a student needs to get succeeded is proper focus, so if you have it then I don't think so that colleges or University matters a lot.

Candidates should ideally try to solve at least 3 previous year JEE question papers per week. However, candidates can also increase the frequency of this to 5 to 6 papers per week, one month before the exam.
