LPUNEST 2026 Exam Pattern: BTech

The exam will be conducted online and the question paper shall comprise of total 100 objective-type questions. There will be four sections namely Physics, Chemistry, English, Maths (OR) Physics, Chemistry, English, Biology.  There will be twenty-five questions each in the Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and English sections.

Q:   Is there any negative marking for the incorrect answers in LPU NEST?
A: 

Unlike other entrance exams, LPU NEST does not have negative marking. Consequently, candidates are not penalised for incorrect answers, resulting in a more favourable environment that encourages them to attempt questions without the fear of losing marks. This approach allows candidates to maximise their chances of scoring well by making guesses or eliminating unlikely options.

Q:   What is the weightage of one question in LPU NEST?
A: 

Each question carries four marks. There will be four marks awarded for each correct response. No marks will be deducted for a wrong response. The exam is conducted for a total of 500 marks. There will be 125 questions asked in the exam.

LPUNEST Exam Pattern 2026: Marking Scheme

Each correct answer shall carry four marks means that for every correct answer, four marks will be awarded. There is no negative marking in the examination, hence no marks will be deducted for incorrect answers.

LPU NEST is conducted in online mode. LPU NEST can be attended by the candidate either from home as a remote proctored test, or they can attend from the test centres. If the candidate wants to take the test from home, they should make sure they have a stable internet connection.
