The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the most important law entrance exam for candidates looking for admission to the NLUs in India. The Consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT Notification in July. The Consortium is expected to begin the CLAT Registration Process on August 1, 2026. Candidates will be able to apply for the CLAT Exam by visiting the CLAT official website; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Candidates must note that only those who submit the application form on time will be allowed to appear in the CLAT Exam 2027. The candidates who will have their CLAT hall tickets will only be able to enter the exam hall and sit for the exam. The aspirants will be required to carry a valid identity proof for verification.
Only those candidates who submit the Application Form on or before the deadline will be issued CLAT Admit Card. Without a Hall Ticket, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the test.

To complete the CLAT 2027 registration successfully, keep the following scanned documents ready in the prescribed format:
- Recent passport-size photograph (clear, coloured – JPEG format, < 100 KB)
- Scanned signature (JPEG format, < 100 KB)
- Class 10 and 12 mark sheets (for UG applicants)
- LLB degree/mark sheet (for PG applicants)
- Caste/Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), if applicable
- PwD certificate, if applicable
- Domicile certificate (for domicile reservation claims in certain NLUs)
- ID proof: Aadhaar, PAN card, Passport, etc.

See, it doesn't matter that you fill the form through laptop or phone. What matters is you fill the form. Yes, you should have good network connection and internet speed. It should not happen that you have filled the form and when you reach the last step you loose the connection. So what is important is network connection not the phone or laptop to fill the application form.
The Consortium has not announced the last date to submit the CLAT Application Form yet. However, once the application process starts it mostly remain opens for three months. This gives candidates sufficient time to complete it and submit.
Even with all the right documents, if you have not paid the application fee, your application form will be rejected. Since the application process cannot complete without submiting the fees. Once the window closes you won't be able to pay the fees or re fill the form.
CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for CLAT UG 2027 can check the eligibility below:
- Candidates must ensure to have the following minimum percentage of marks in their qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination):
- Forty-five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
- Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Candidates who may be appearing for their qualifying examination in March/ April, 2027 are also eligible to appear for the CLAT 2027 examination. However, they shall be required to produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission"
PG CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria:

- An LL.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty percent (50%) marks or its equivalent grade
- In case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Forty-Five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade

How to Register for CLAT 2026?
Candidates can follow the simple steps given below to register for CLAT 2026 Exam:
Step 1: Go to the official website; i.e.consortiumofnlus.ac.in,
Step 2: Register as a new user
- Click on “Register”
- Enter your Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID
- Create a secure password
- Verify using OTP sent to your mobile/email
Step 3: Fill the Application Form
- Choose your course (UG/PG)
- Enter your personal details: Name, DOB, gender, etc.
- Enter your academic details: Marks, board/university, year of passing
- Select reservation category (if applicable)
- Choose preferred test cities (up to 3)
Step 4: Upload Required Documents
- Upload scanned photograph, signature, and category certificates
Step 5: Make the Application Fee Payment
- General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI: INR 4,000
- SC/ST/BPL: INR 3,500

No, there is no such provision given by the Consortium to fill out the application form offline. Candidates must complete filling the CLAT Application Form 2027 on or before the last date.
