MAT 2020 exam for September session was conducted today in PBT mode at various exam centres across India amid social distancing.

MAT 2020 PBT exam centre in Delhi

MAT 2020 exam for September session was conducted today in Paper Based Test (PBT) mode at various exam centres across India. At the exam centre, all the COVID-19 related protocols were followed. The candidates were allotted different reporting time to prevent crowding at the exam centres and the entry of students was done one by one with 2-metres distance between students.

At the entry gate, body temperature of each candidate was checked, and only those who has normal body temperature, were allowed to enter the test centre building. Inside the exam centre, the candidates had to present their MAT admit card, photo ID and self-declaration regarding fitness for identification. The COVID-19 safety arrangements made by AIMA were satisfactory. The parents who had accompanied their wards to the MAT exam centre seemed happy with the arrangements. Overall, the MAT 2020 exam was conducted smoothly and safely.

However, in light of the imposition of Section 144 across Kerala from October 3 to 31, 2020 due to COVID-19, conduct of MAT 2020 exam at Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi centres was cancelled. The candidates who were supposed to take the test at these centres were informed on October 2 by email and SMS. The registration of these candidates is being carried forward to next MAT exam in December 2020 or later.

An official notice posted at exam centre regarding COVID-19 guidelines

MAT exam is conducted in PBT and CBT mode four times a year, but in May 2020 it cancelled the exam in these two modes due to COVID-19 lockdown and introduced Internet Based Test (IBT), a remotely proctored test which can be taken from home or any other safe location.

After the nationwide lockdown was lifted and life came back to normalcy, AIMA relaunched PBT mode exam in September. The MAT 2020 PBT exam was originally scheduled on September 20 but was rescheduled to October 3.

According to the candidates who appeared in the MAT exam, the question paper was on expected lines with overall moderate difficulty. There was no change in the MAT exam pattern.

MAT is overall an easy exam, but if you compare the sections, usually the Quantitative Aptitude is considered tougher than rest of the four sections, due to calculation intensive questions.

All the MAT sections have same weightage, i.e. 30 questions and 30 marks. So candidates must keep in mind to prepare each section properly and poor performance in one section can affect overall score.

No, you can not join Anna University without appearing for an entrance exam if you want admission to the MBA/PGDM course. Students can either take the CAT or MAT exam, attain a valid percentile and then proceed to the next round.

The percentile needed for admission would depend on the category you belong to. JAGSoM accepts various entrance examinations for admission to the MBA/PGDM course, like CAT, XAT, MAT, etc.

You don't strictly need CAT to get into GIBS Business School. They accept both CAT and MAT scores, but even if you haven't appeared for them, you can still get admission through their direct admission or interview process.

GIBS Business School's PGDM cutoff is moderate and generally does not reach the high levels of an IIM. The main factors impacting cutoff are your entrance test scores and other criteria.

Yes, MAT score valid for MAH CET counselling for MBA/MMS. Candidates can apply for admission to Maharashtra MBA colleges by registering for the CAP round under non-MAH CET category. MAH CET CAP is conducted in July-August, every year.
