IIT Madras and Lightstorm Collaborate to Launch Employment Skilling Initiative

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras and Lightstorm announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for an “Employment Skilling Initiative”. The collaboration aims to address the skill gap among underprivileged students and support underserved youth, women, and job seekers from tier 2 & 3 cities.

Lightstorm is teaming up with IIT Madras's Technology Innovation Hub to offer comprehensive placement support and job readiness resources for students enrolled in Arts, Science, and Commerce programs. Additionally, top-performing students will have the chance to secure internship placements, thereby boosting their professional growth and job prospects. 

Employment Skilling Initiative

 The "Employment Enablement Program through Skill Development" offers a carefully crafted curriculum designed to equip students with practical skills essential for the modern job market. The program covers a variety of critical topics, including Networking Essentials, ITIL Fundamentals, Ticketing Tools, Production Support Fundamentals, and basics of Linux & Windows, along with Storage & Backup Fundamentals, Middleware Technologies, and Soft Skill Training. This program is conducted by a combination of academic and industry experts and utilizes a hybrid training model that blends classroom teaching with practical, hands-on experiences. This method ensures optimal skill retention and applicability, empowering students to thrive in their professional pursuits.
