JEE Advanced 2025 on May 18: Check Revision Tips

JEE Advanced 2025: Aspirants across the country are gearing up for the JEE Advanced exam scheduled on May 18, 2025. With just a few days remaining, they must shift focus from comprehensive preparation to targeted JEE Advanced 2025 revision, confidence-building, and strategic time management.

This year, JEE Advanced 2025 will be conducted on May 18 in two shifts: Paper 1 from 9 AM to 12 PM and Paper 2 from 2:30 to 5:30 PM, covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualifiers are eligible to appear for the exam.

JEE Advanced 2025: Focus on High-Weightage Topics

At this stage, revisiting every chapter in detail is neither practical nor efficient. Prioritise JEE Advanced 2025 high-weightage topics based on past year papers:

  • Physics: Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Modern Physics, Optics
  • Chemistry: Physical Chemistry (Mole Concept, Thermodynamics), Organic Chemistry (Reaction Mechanism, Named Reactions), Inorganic Chemistry (Periodic Table, Coordination Compounds)
  • Mathematics: Calculus, Algebra (Matrices, Complex Numbers), Coordinate Geometry, Probability

Reinforce understanding of core concepts instead of diving into lesser-practised or obscure topics.

Solve JEE Advanced Previous Years’ Papers & Mock Tests

Take JEE Advanced mock tests under exam conditions to build stamina and develop time-management skills.

  • Aim for at least 3 to 4 mock tests in the last week.
  • Analyse performance and identify frequent mistakes or weak areas.
  • Solve previous years' JEE Advanced papers to get familiar with the difficulty level and pattern.

Use Efficient Revision Strategy for JEE Advanced 2025

This approach ensures a balance of revision, practice, and analysis. Break the day into 3-hour slots:

  • 1st Slot: Revise one subject and solve 15–20 questions.
  • 2nd Slot: Take a JEE Advanced mock test or a sectional test.
  • 3rd Slot: Analyse mistakes and revise formulas/concepts.

Formula & Concept Notebook

Having a revision notebook with all important formulas, important concepts and shortcuts. Use it to revise:

  • Important equations in Physics and Maths
  • Reaction mechanisms and named reactions in Organic Chemistry
  • Colour changes, trends, and exceptions in Inorganic Chemistry

Avoid New Topics

Avoid the temptation to study new or untouched topics. Doing so at the last minute can increase anxiety and reduce confidence. Stick to what they already know well.

JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Day Strategy

  • Reach the JEE Advanced 2025 centre on time with all required documents.
  • Read all instructions carefully before starting the exam
  • Don’t get stuck on difficult questions; move ahead and return later.
  • Keep calm and stay confident with the preparation.
