IIT Admission Process
Candidates interested in BTech/BS admission at IITs have to qualify in the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced). The exam is conducted once every year in May. Before applying for the JEE Advanced, candidates have to first qualify the JEE Mains exam by scoring the minimum cutoff score. Only those candidates who scores above the JEE Main cutoff can apply and appear in JEE Advanced.
IIT JEE Advanced Syllabus and Exam Pattern
Questions in the exam are asked from the class 11 and 12 topics of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics mentioned in JEE Advanced syllabus. The exact list of topics to be studied can be checked from the syllabus available on the JEE Advanced official website.
As per JEE Advanced exam pattern, there will be two question papers, Paper 1 and 2 each having questions from Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Students have to appear in both the papers and qualify. The total number of questions in JEE Advanced exam varies in most years but ranges around 15-20 in each paper. The exam will have Single Correct MCQs, Multiple Correct MCQs, Matching Type Questions, and Numerical Answer Type questions.
