NLSIU Bengaluru Opens Admissions for 2025-26; Application Deadline March 30

NLSIU is also accepting applications from international students for the 5-Year BA LLB (Hons), 3-Year LLB (Hons), 1-Year LLM, 2-Year Master’s in Public Policy, and Ph.D. programmes.

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, has opened admissions for the Academic Year 2025-26, inviting applications for multiple undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The deadline for application submission is March 30, 2025, and admissions will be conducted through the National Law School Admissions Test (NLSAT), scheduled for April 27, 2025.

NLSIU, India’s premier law school, offers the following programmes through NLSAT:

New NLS BA (Hons)

3-Year LLB (Hons)

2-Year Master’s Programme in Public Policy

Ph.D. (Law)

Ph.D. (Social Sciences, Humanities, and Public Policy)

NLSAT Examination: April 27, 2025 (10:00 AM – 12:30 PM)

Final Admissions List: By the end of May 2025

Commencement of Academic Year: July 1, 2025

International Admissions

NLSIU is also accepting applications from international students for the 5-Year BA LLB (Hons), 3-Year LLB (Hons), 1-Year LLM, 2-Year Master’s in Public Policy, and Ph.D. programmes. Admission for international applicants is based on the online NLSAT-International, also scheduled for April 27, 2025.

CLAT and NLSIU Admissions

Unlike other National Law Universities (NLUs) that admit students through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), NLSIU conducts its own entrance test—NLSAT—for several programmes. However, the 5-Year BA LLB (Hons) and 1-Year LLM programmes at NLSIU still require candidates to qualify through CLAT 2025. NLSIU remains one of the most sought-after law schools in India due to its rigorous academic curriculum, distinguished faculty, and extensive alumni network.
