TNPSC Group 4 Counselling 2025 Dates Out: Seat Allotment Dates, Fees & Procedure

The TNPSC Group 4 Counselling will be conducted at the designated centres from December 8 to 18, 2025. After the Counselling, the Commission/Competent Authority will issue the appointment letter to the candidates. During the Counselling, the candidates are provided with the options of posts available to them. The candidates will be required to select the posts from the available options and convey it to the counselling officers appointed for the said purpose. The Commission test the compatibility of the candidates to the post included in the Combined Competitive Exam for Group 4 services. The TNPSC Group 4 exam is one of the most popular exams in the state because there is no interview and the candidates can get the government service in the local area near their residence. In the TNPSC Group 4 counselling, the candidates are tested for their suitability for the post. In the counselling, the candidates are called for the original certificate verification and counselling.

TNPSC Group 4 counselling is an important stage for getting the post and the location of the posting. The Commission and its officer select the most appropriate candidate for the post based on his or her marks, preference, suitability, academic qualification, previous experience and place of residence.

The result is prepared based on the marks of the candidates secured in the written exam. The commission prepares the following merit list, mentioning the following.

• CommunityWise Rank
• Special Category Rank viz- Ex-Servicemen, Destitute widow and differently-abled categories.

After the above publication, the commission releases the department/unit-wise vacancy positions. The commission issues the counselling guidelines to specify which category of candidates are eligible for which category of posts.

The following steps are undertaken in the pre-counselling.

• The number of candidates called for the vacancies are three times the number of vacancies.
• The verification of the documents is done against the claims made by the candidates.
• After the verification, the commission prepares the Counselling list after removing the absent/ineligible/rejected candidates.

Registration Process

The Commission employs a Counselling module software for the registration of the candidates. The candidates are duly enrolled through this software only and the candidates are made to sit as per their order of rank.

Instruction Session

The candidates have explained all the important instructions related to the counselling. The Commission officials explain the dos and don’ts of the counselling chamber.

Projection of Vacancy

On the day of counselling, the candidates are called based on the counselling list. The vacancy is displayed over a projector so that the candidate (next in line) can know the available vacancy in the department and the location of the posting. By knowing this, the candidate can opt for the vacancy as per the latest update.

Help Desk

When the candidate reaches the counselling room, the candidates are directed to the help desk where they can see the exact vacancy available in his or her communal category. No other communal vacancy will be displayed to the candidate to ensure the information of vacancies to the candidate.

Allotment Desk

The candidates are sent to the allotment desk for the final allotment of the service. The candidate needs to confirm the name of the post on the microphone. After the confirmation, the post is allotted to the candidate. The entire process of counselling is video-graphed to ensure transparency.

Allotment Order

An allotment order is generated after the candidates confirm their choice. The allotment order contains a unique barcode. The Allotment order is duly signed by the competent authority and issued to the candidate on the spot. The candidate cannot change their option once the allotment order is issued and accepted by the candidate. The category-wise vacancies are updated after each round of counselling at the official website of TNPSC.

After the counselling, the appointment letter is issued to the candidate and their seniority is decided by the Commission.
