Yes, you can use scribe service in UCEED 2026 exam. The use of a scribe can be used by the candidate under the condition Candidates who have a disability and require assistance in operating the computer for Part-A of the examination Candidate has to upload a copy of the PwD certificate at the time of online registration for UCEED 2026.

Do I need to pay any service charge when filling UCEED 2026 application form?

Yes, the candidate may have to pay the service charges, processing fees and/or any other charges that the banks may charge when filling out the UCEED 2026 application form. Note that this in addition to the application fee.

Will the IITs conduct spot round of UCEED 2026 counseling for OCI/PIO candidates?

The IITs will not conduct any spot rounds after the completion of the regular counseling rounds. UCEED 2026 counseling will be conducted as a Joint Admission Process. The counseling will have five seat-allotment rounds. Meanwhile, IITDM Jabalpur may conduct a spot round of admissions at the institutional level if there are any vacant seats after completion of the UCEED counselling.

Will IIT Bombay release the evaluated answer sheets of Part B for UCEED 2026?

The evaluated answer booklets of Part-B will not be shared with the candidates. Further, the answer booklets of Part – B will be preserved ONLY for a period of three months from the date of declaration of the UCEED results. Part B answer booklets will be evaluated manually. The panel will have two expert evaluators who will do the evaluation separately and independently.

Can I transfer my UCEED 2026 counseling fee?

The counseling fee of UCEED 2026 is neither refundable nor transferable. So, when making the payment, the candidate needs to be sure about their participation. UCEED 2026 counseling will have five seat allotment rounds. Registrations for UCEED counseling 2026 will be held online.

Will UCEED 2026 counseling be held for M.Des admission?

IIT Bombay will conduct the counseling process for UCEED 2026 for B.Des admission only. Candidates who have qualified in CEED 2026 exam need to apply directly to the particiating college. Note that IIT Bombay will not conduct any Joint Admission Process for CEED 2026. So, once CEED 2026 results are declared, go to the admission portal of the participating instititues for updates.

Can students from Commerce/ Arts or Humanities apply for admission to IIT Guwahati through UCEED 2026?

Yes, candidates from all streams can fill the application form of UCEED. Also, note that Biology will not be considered in place of Mathematics. The application form for UCEED 2026 must be filled out by candidates after ascertaining their eligibility. IIT Roorkee has the same eligibility criteria as IIT Guwahati.

How to register for the UCEED 2026 Counselling?

The 1st step of UCEED 2026 counseling is online registration. The counseling registration process for UCEED will be conducted starting the 2nd week of March 2026. Candidates who have qualified in the entrance exam and have been assigned a merit rank in UCEED were eligible to participate in the counseling process. The 2nd step is the selection of campuses. Eligible candidates must register for counseling and select their preferred colleges in order of priority during registration. In the 3rd step, seat allotment is made. The allotment of seats is as per the merit rank of the candidate in UCEED and the choices selected. Post the allotment of seats, the candidate has to pay the seat acceptance fee and confirm their admission.

When will UCEED 2026 Round 1 begin?

UCEED Counselling Round 1 will begin on April 21, 2026. The seat acceptance fee must be paid by April 29, 2026, 6 PM.

When will the UCEED 2026 application form open?

UCEED 2026 Application was open from October 01, 2025, on the official website. Last date to apply with regular fees was on November 05, 2025. Candidates who met the prescribed eligibility criteria were able to apply for admission.

Can I change my institute after completion of UCEED 2026 counseling?

No, you cannot change the institute once the UCEED 2026 counselling process is over. A candidate is not allowed to shift from one institute to another. The candidate will have to select their preferred institute at the time of counselling registration.

My qualifying Exam Board awards only letter grades. Can I apply for UCEED 2026?

If a qualifying Examination Board awards only letter grades without providing information on the passing grade on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the passing grade and upload it along with the grade sheet. No, candidates from m Commerce, Arts or Humanities at 10+2 are not eligible to apply for BDes admissions at IIITDM Jabalpur. For admission to BDes at IIITDM Jabalpur, the candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology. The candidate is urged to carefully go through the detailed UCEED 2025 eligibility criteria before applying for admission.

How will scribes be allocated to the candidates for UCEED exam?

Exam officials will make the necessary arrangements through the test centre administrator (TCA) of the examination centre to provide a panel of scribes (amanuenses). Only such candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for scribe services. Scribes will be students of Class XI. The PwD/Dyslexic (severe) candidate has to choose a scribe from this panel. The candidates are not be allowed to bring their own scribes.

Do I need to mention request for compensatory time in the UCEED 2026 application form?

If the candidate wishes to avail the services of a scribe and compensatory time, the same should be mentioned in the UCEED 2026 application form. The candidate is eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour in Part A and 20 minutes for Part B. But note that the compensatory time for Part-A cannot be transferred to Part-B and vice versa. Upload the PwD certificate along with such requests in the given format.

When should I pay the UCEED 2026 seat-acceptance fee?

To avoid any last-minute unforeseen transaction issues, you should pay the seat acceptance fee for a round well before the end time/date of the corresponding round. If the fee is not paid within the given deadline, allotment will be cancelled. Also, such seats will be offered to the candidate next in the order of merit.

Will the UCEED 2026 seat-acceptance fee adjusted with the institute fees?

Yes, the seat-acceptance fee paid by the candidate will be adjusted against the institute fees of the admitting institute at the time of joining. In case the candidate declines the offered seat after remitting the seat acceptance fee, the refund of the seat acceptance fee will be done per the policies of the admitting institute. So, carefully go through the counseling process.

IIT Bombay will not release any hard copies of the UCEED 2026 scorecard. The scorecard will be available in online mode only. It will be released in the form of a downloadable pdf; you can download it from the official admission portal - uceed.iitb.ac.in. The last date to download the scorecard is July 31, 2026.

How many seats are there in UCEED 2026 for B.Des Programme?

There will be a total of around 245 seats in IITs for the UCEED 2026 B.Des Programme. IIT Bombay will offer 37 seats, IIT Delhi will have 20 seats and IIT Guwahati will have 56 seats.

What is provisional UCEED seat allotment?

UCEED seat allotment will be provisional and will be confirmed by admitting institutes only after fees are paid, documents are duly verified, and their formalities are completed. If any of the steps are left incomplete, the seat allotment can be cancelled. In such a case, the vacant seats will be offered to the candidate next in the order of merit.

Is there reservation of seats for General-EWS in UCEED 2026?

As per the information given in the UCEED 2026 information brochure, 10% of seats in every course will be reserved for Gen-EWS category. Note that to apply under this category, you must meet the conditions given in the OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. UCEED B.Des Application is open now. B.Des application portal is active now. It opened on March 14, 2026 (Saturday), 10 AM and will remain active till April 10, 2026 (Friday), 5:30 PM. Candidates who cleared the UCEED 2026 are eligible to apply for the B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur for this academic year.

There is a common application form for admissions to the respective B.Des programmes of the institutes. IIT Bombay released the common application form and will conduct the joint seat allocation process.

What is UCEED Entrance Exam?

Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a national-level exam conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to the B.Des program at the following institutes: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. The UCEED exam is conducted once every year, usually in January. In the previous edition of the exam, more than 15,000 candidates registered for the exam, out of which around 13,500 candidates appeared in the exam.

Admission is based on UCEED merit. The candidate has to appear in the UCEED entrance exam, which is conducted by IIT Bombay. Merit lists for admission are prepared considering the marks of UCEED 2026. Also, the scores will be used to shortlist candidates for counseling. UCEED scores are also used by result-sharing institutes. However, the result-sharing institutes will use UCEED 2026 scores to fill available seats in their UG courses.

UCEED 2026 is expected to be offered in seven institutes: IIT Bombay (IITB), IIT Delhi (IITD), IIT Guwahati (IITG), IIT Hyderabad (IITH), IIT Indore (IITI), IIT Roorkee (IITR), and IIITDM Jabalpur (IIITDMJ). IIT Bombay will process the common application form and conduct the joint seat allocation process for UCEED 2026.

UCEED 2026 Results

IIT Bombay declared the results of UCEED 2026 on March 06, 2026. The results are declared online at the UCEED 2026 admission portal. To check the results, candidates need their registered email ID and password. UCEED 2026 Scorecards were available from March 10, 2026 onwards. The last date to download the UCEED 2026 scorecard will be July 31, 2026.

All shortlisted candidates will get a common merit rank (All India Rank). All shortlisted candidates are considered qualified candidates in UCEED 2026. Obtaining a rank in UCEED 2026 does NOT guarantee admission to the B. Des programme.

How to check UCEED 2026 Result?

The result of UCEED 2026 is declared online. Follow these steps to check your results.

Go to the UCEED 2026 admission portal and click on the result link.
A log-in window will open.
Enter your registered email ID and password.
On successful login, the UCEED 2026 result will be displayed on the screen.
Download and take a printout of the results.

The candidate needs to follow the same steps to download the scorecard. The UCEED 2026 scorecard is valid for one year from the date of issue.

UCEED 2026 Cut-off

IIT Bombay released the UCEED cutoff marks for Part A on February 05, 2026. The cut-offs are released in the form of mean and standard deviation. Only such candidates who meet the cut-off will be considered for admission to the B.Des program offered by the participating colleges of IIT Bombay. Candidates who are higher in the merit rank will be allocated seats first. Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate meets the Part A cut-off marks. The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (UCEED 2026) are 70.86 and 25.77.

Marks obtained in Part-A will be used to shortlist candidates. The cut-off (𝛿) for Part-A marks to shortlist candidates in the OPEN category will be 𝜇 + (𝜎⁄2) = 𝛿,
where 𝜇 and 𝜎 are the average marks and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by ALL the candidates in Part-A of UCEED 2026. The 𝜇, 𝜎, and 𝛿 will be rounded off to two decimal places. The candidates belonging to the reserved categories shall have to fulfil a relaxed cut-off mark, which will be 0.9𝛿 for OBC-NCL/EWS, 0.5𝛿 for SC/ST/PwD, where 𝛿 is the cut-off mark for the OPEN category.

Part A cut-offs will be released category-wise.
Part B answer booklets of the candidate are evaluated only if the candidate meets the cut-off.
Shortlisting of candidates: All candidates who meet the cut-off will be shortlisted.
The cut-off mark is calculated by using a specific formula
All the candidates who get shortlisted will be allocated a rank.
If a candidate fails in Part B of the paper, they will not be shortlisted and will not be assigned any ranks.

There will be seven participating institutes in UCEED 2026. Each of these institutes offers the B.Des course, with admission to be conducted based on UCEED 2026 merit. So, to be eligible for admission, the candidate needs to have secured a rank in the UCEED 2026 exam. IIT Bombay will conduct a Joint Seat Allotment process (or counseling) for shortlisted candidates.

UCEED Result-Sharing Institutes 2026

A few other institutes will also use the scores of the UCEED 2026 exam in addition to the participating colleges. These institutes are known as UCEED 2026 result-sharing institutes. These institutes will fill some of their undergraduate seats based on UCEED 2026 scores. The remaining seats may be filled considering other entrance exams, including exams conducted by the institutes. However, UCEED result-sharing institutes will not participate in the joint seat allotment process conducted by IIT Bombay.

The application for admission through UCEED Score is open now. The last date to fill the Common Application form for B.Des admission is April 10, 2026. How to fill out the UCEED Application Form?

To get registered, the candidate had to follow these steps.

Online registration: Click on the registration link. You will be redirected to a registration form. Fill in details like a valid email ID and mobile number. An applicant account will be created.
Fill in the form: The application form will have sections, like personal, academic, and contact details. Fill in all the sections. Candidates will also be required to select an exam city from the drop-down menu. Select the exam cities in the order of priority.
Upload documents: The candidate has to upload documents, like a photograph, signature, date of birth proof, and qualifying exam certificates in the prescribed format.
Pay the application fee: The fee has to be paid in online mode. The application fee for the OPEN category is INR 4,000 and INR. 2,000 for reserved category candidates

Who is not Eligible for UCEED 2026?

Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2024 or earlier are NOT eligible. Only UCEED 2026 qualified students can apply for admission to the BDes programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur for the academic year 2026-2027.

There will be a common application form for admissions to the respective B. Des programmes. The UCEED Office, IIT Bombay, will process the common application form and conduct the joint seat allocation process. The common application form will be available through the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal. The B. Des admission application counselling processing fee for applicants of all categories and genders will be around ₹4,000 (Rupees Four Thousand only). This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

UCEED Selection Process 2026

UCEED 2026 Counselling will begin on April 21, 2026. UCEED Round I seat allotment for B.Des 2026 will be announced on April 21, 2026. The window for seat acceptance fee payment will open on the same day. Candidates will be given an opportunity to withdraw their seat or exit the seat allocation process between April 29, 2026 and May 11, 2026, by 6:00 PM.

UCEED 2026 Admit Card and Exam Centres

Admit cards for UCEED 2026 is available now for download. It was released on January 02, 2026, at 01:00 pm. It is issued to all candidates who have duly completed the application process. The candidate can download the admit card from the UCEED - IIT Bombay admission portal.

UCEED admit card contains details like the date and time of the UCEED Entrance Exam, the name and address of the exam center, exam timings, including reporting time, and exam-day guidelines. On the day of the exam, candidates had to bring with them a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card. Candidates will be allowed to take the exam without the admit card.

UCEED Examination Centre 2026

The UCEED 2026 exam will be held in 27 cities across India. The candidate is allowed to select a maximum of three cities at the time of filling the application form. The details of the exam center allocated to the candidate will be mentioned on the UCEED 2026 admit card. The reporting time at the IIT UCEED Test Centre is 7 AM. The entry in the examination hall will be at 9 AM. There will be biometric attendance at the centre.

On the day of the exam, the candidate needs to report to the exam center as per the reporting time.

UCEED 2026 Exam Pattern

UCEED 2026 exam is divided into two parts - A and B. As per the official UCEED 2026 exam pattern, Part B will include Two questions: one on Drawing and the other on Design aptitude. The duration of Paper B will be 60 minutes. The question in Part B will be displayed on the computer screen, and the answer has to be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator only. Further, Part B will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part A.

UCEED 2026 Syllabus

IIT Bombay released the UCEED Syllabus on the website. The question paper will be of 300 marks. Part A will be computer based test and Part B will be pen-pencil based.

UCEED 2026 question paper will have two parts: Part A and Part B
Part A will be administered through a computer-based test and will consist of three sections (NAT, MSQ, and MCQ).
Part B will now have TWO questions: one on Drawing and the other on Design aptitude. The question in Part B will be displayed on the computer screen, and the answer has to be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator only.
Duration for Part A will be 120 minutes, while Part B will be 60 minutes.

UCEED 2026 Answer Key

UCEED Final Answer Key for Part A was out Janaury 28, 2026. IIT Bombay released the draft answer key of UCEED 2026 on January 19, 2026. The question paper for UCEED 2026 was released alongside the answer key.

The draft answer key will contain the official answers to the questions asked in the entrance exam.
