What is NBSAT?

Narayana Business School Admission Test or NBSAT is a common entrance test conducted by Narayana Business School for admission to its PGDM/MBA programmes. NBSAT is a two-hour online proctored test that can be taken from home. The NBSAT comprises questions from Quantitative Techniques (QT), Data Interpretation & Data Adequacy (DI & DA), Vocabulary & Analytical Reasoning (AR) and Reading Comprehension (RC). NBSAT is a holistic entrance test which aims to assess the candidate on two parameters:

  • Aptitude Skills (55%) which includes assessment of quantitative ability, reasoning, language, and business awareness.
  • Holistic Skills (45%) which includes assessment of candidate's creativity, innovation, ethical reasoning, and real-world decision-making.

Q:   What is the NBSAT cut off for selection?

The cut-off for the NBSAT Entrance test is 50%. Candidates have to score at least 50% marks in the exam to be eligible for selection.

Q:   What is the age limit to appear for NBSAT?

Maximum age of candidate for MBA is 28 years at Narayana Business School. Minimum age limit is 19 years.

NBSAT test is mandatory for all MBA and PGDM programmes offered by Narayana Business School. Candidates can also use CAT, XAT, NMAT, CMAT and scores for admission.

NBSAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for NBSAT exam, candidates have to fulfill minimum eligibility criteria determind by the university. Check below the academic requirement for NBSAT:

  • Candidate should be a graduate with minimum of 50 per cent marks or equivalent from a recognised university/institute
  • Candidates appearing for final year exam of their bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications are also eligible to apply
  • Candidates who have scored (CAT ≥ 75, XAT ≥ 70, CMAT ≥ 80, NMAT ≥ 180) will not have to appear for NBSAT.
  • Candidates having CA/CA/ICWS degree are also eligible to apply if they meet the minimum score requirement.

Eligibility Criteria for PGDM Data Science

  • Candidate must have studied Mathematics/Statistics at class 12 level. Bachelor’s degree in IT Engineering, Computer Applications or Statistics is desirable.

Eligibility Criteria for PGDM Quantitative Finance

  • The candidate must have studied Mathematics/Statistics at Class 12 level. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Engineering or Economics is desirable.

There is no specific date of NBSAT result declaration. The NBSAT result will be declared within 24 hours of completion of the test by the candidate.

NBSAT 2026 Selection and Shortlisting Process

After the NBSAT 2026 Exam, candidates who qualify will be selected for the second round of the admission process. NBS selection and shortlisting process for MBA/PGDM process includes psychometric profiling and personal interview. Candidates have to appear for and clear this round to be eligible for admission to NBS. The cut off for final shortlisting is 50 per cent in NBSAT but it may vary different programmes based on candidate’s overall score.

The difficulty level of NBSAT is usually easy. There is no negative marking in the exam so there is no added pressure. With basic preparation and practice of Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation & Data Adequacy, Analytical Reasoning, Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension, one can crack NBSAT with good scores.

Q:   What happens after NBSAT result?
A: 

After the NBSAT result is declares, the institute conducts Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). It is mandatory for the shortlisted candidates to appear for GD/PI to be eligible for admission. The final merit list is released post GD/PI round.
