NTA is likely to release JEE Main 2020 result for April/September session by September 11. Know the reasons here.

JEE Main 2020 was conducted September 1 to 6 in computer-based mode at 660 centres across India and abroad amid COVID-19 pandemic. JEE Main 2020 answer key was released after two days after the conclusion of the test i.e. September 8. The window to challenge the answer keys is open for two days. It is most likely that NTA will announce the JEE Main 2020 result on September 11.

Earlier, in the January session, the result of JEE Main 2020 was declared after one week of the entrance test got over. However, due to the prevailing situation, all the exams including JEE Main and JEE Advanced were postponed and are now being held back to back. National Testing Agency is expected to announce the result of JEE Main 2020 within three days. Check the reasons below.

JEE Main result along with final JEE Main 2020 answer key

NTA has published the provisional JEE Main 2020 answer key on September 8. Candidates are given an option to challenge the same by September 10. As soon as the challenging JEE Main 2020 answer key is over, the NTA will release the final JEE Main answer key on the same day or the next day. In the past years, JEE Main result is usually announced along with the final answer key.

JEE Advanced 2020 registration to begin on September 12

The JEE Main result is expected to be announced on September 11 as only the top 2.5 lakh qualified candidates will be eligible to fill the JEE Advanced 2020 application form. IIT Delhi has released all the JEE Advanced 2020 dates. The authority is all set to release the JEE Advanced application form on September 12. Therefore, NTA has to announce the JEE Main 2020 result before the registration commences.

Along with the JEE Main result, NTA will also release the list of candidates who have scored 100 percentile and JEE Main 2020 April/September state toppers.

Check steps to download JEE Main 2020 result

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main
  • Click the tab 'View Result/Scorecard'
  • Enter your JEE Main Application Number, password/date of birth and security pin
  • Submit the required details, JEE Main 2020 results will be displayed online
  • Download or print your JEE Main 2020 scorecards
  • Candidates are advised to keep their scorecards safe until the admission process

Since the exam is held in multiple shifts each day across the two sessions, the calculation of score to a single percentile score is done through a normalization process.

The JEE Main is held twice a year. JEE main result is announced for both January and April session. The best score of the two sessions will be taken into consideration for candidates who appeared in both the sessions. The merit list will be prepared based on the final scores and ranks. Through JEE Main, candidates will be offered admission at NITs, IIITs and CFTIs across India.
