JEE Main 2027 Centres in West Bengal

JEE Main Centres in West Bengal: Check the list of cities where JEE Mains 2027 exam will be held in West Begal. An important difference to note is the difference between an exam city and an exact JEE Mains exam centre. When filling out the application form, candidates select four preferred exam cities, the broader towns or areas where NTA JEE Main exam will take place. An exact exam centre, on the other hand, is the specific educational institution, college, or digital assessment test centre where the candidate sits for the exam on the allotted JEE Main exam date.

The exact examination centre details, including the complete physical address and reporting time, are not disclosed at the application stage. They are formally released only through the JEE Main admit card. On the other hand, NTA informs the candidates about the allotted exam city via the JEE Main city slip much before the admit card is out, so that the students can plan their travel and accommodation for the JEE Main 2027 exam.

How to Select a JEE Main Exam City

Aspirants must submit their test city preferences online during the initial registration stage on the JEE Main application form. According to official NTA guidelines, applicants are shown a drop-down list of available cities based strictly on the Permanent Address and Present Address details entered in their application profile.

Key procedural rules to remember during city selection include:

  • Candidates can choose up to four preferred exam cities in order of their personal convenience.
  • City options are populated in accordance with the candidate's state of residence or permanent and present address records.
  • Because of this system rule, candidates residing in West Bengal will be able to choose test cities located within West Bengal and immediate neighbouring areas as per their address information.
  • Choices must be entered carefully. If an error is made, city preferences can only be revised if the NTA provides an official JEE Mains application correction window.

How JEE Main 2027 Exam City Is Allotted

The National Testing Agency (NTA) automatically assigns exam cities by computer, with no manual intervention.

Here is what you need to know:

  • First choice priority: NTA tries to give you your first-choice city.

  • Capacity limits: If a city runs out of seats or does not have enough candidates to set up a test centre, you may be assigned another city from your preference list, or nearby cities may be merged.

  • No changes allowed: Once your city and centre are assigned, the decision is final. NTA will not accept requests or appeals to change it.

How to Check Your JEE Main Exam City

Roughly 10 to 14 days before the commencement of the exam session, the NTA releases the advance intimation of the examination city. Candidates can verify their allotted exam city and scheduled test date online by accessing the JEE Main city intimation Slip on the official portal (jeemain.nta.nic.in) using their application number and password.

It is important to recognise how the city intimation document differs from other exam materials:

  • Exam City vs Exact Examination Centre: The city slip communicates the broader municipal city and the designated date of the test; it does not name the testing venue or address.
  • City Intimation Slip vs. Admit Card: The advance city slip is issued solely to help candidates plan outstation travel, train bookings, and lodging well in advance. It is not the admit card and cannot be used to enter the examination venue.

Yes, JEE Main scores are recognised under the RBUEdge Scholarship Program, so your entrance exam effort can also help reduce your fees. A higher score falls in a higher scholarship slab, with the top slab offering a 60% waiver on the course fee. This is a nice reward for the hard work that goes into
