JEE Main 2027 Paper 2 is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for candidates seeking admission to Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) and Bachelor of Planning (BPlan) programmes offered by NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and several other participating institutes across India. Unlike JEE Main Paper 1, which is meant for BE/BTech admissions, Paper 2 tests candidates' aptitude for architecture and planning through Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing or Planning-based questions.

JEE Main 2027 Paper 2a (BArch) and 2b (BPlan): NTA will hold JEE Mains 2027 Paper 2 twice, allowing candidates to improve their scores. Candidates can appear for Paper 2A (BArch), Paper 2B (BPlan) or both, depending on the course they wish to pursue. What is JEE Main 2027 Paper 2?
JEE Main Paper 2 is the national-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate Architecture and Planning programmes. It is divided into two papers:
- Paper 2A: For admission to Bachelor of Architecture (BArch)
- Paper 2B: For admission to Bachelor of Planning (BPlan)

JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 Exam Pattern
Understanding the JEE Mains exam pattern is important for effective preparation. While both BArch and BPlan papers include Mathematics and Aptitude sections, the third section differs depending on the course selected. Paper 2A includes a Drawing Test, whereas Paper 2B features Planning-based questions. The Mathematics and Aptitude sections are conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, while the Drawing Test is conducted offline using pen and paper.

There are two question types in JEE Main exam. Multiple choice questions and numerical ability questions. In MCQ, every question has 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Select the correct option. In numerical ability question type, no options are there. Solve them and write answer using keyword and mouse.
Candidates should take JEE Main mock tests at least once a week. However, in the last month before exam, frequency should be increased to 3 to 4 mock exam per week.
Students can download JEE Main previous year question paper from Shiksha page. Candidates are provided JEE Main previous year question papers from the year 2014 to 2026. The papers can be downloaded as PDF and can be practised to prepare for the exam.

JEE Main 2026 exam pattern has been released by the NTA. As per exam pattern, the JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech) exam will consist of 75 questions, 25 each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 will be MCQs and 5 will be NAV. Students need to answer all 75 questions. JEE Main paper 2A for B.Arch consists of 77 questions of which 25 are from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 2 from Drawing. In Paper 2B for BPlan total questions are 100 of which 25 are from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 25 from Planning.
The question paper will have no internal choices within questions and total duration of exam is 3 hours.
Chapterwise weightage of class 11 and 12 topics in JEE Main are mentioned below:
- Physics: Current Electricity Waves AC, Magnetism, Laws of Motion Work, Power and Energy.
- Chemistry the high weightage topics are s and p block elements, Coordination compounds, Thermodynamics Gaseous state, Chemical bonding, Atomic structure, Polymers, Environmental Chemistry Organic Chemistry.
- Mathematics, the high weightage topics are Sequence and Series Vectors and 3D, Integral and Differential Calculus, Definite and Indefinite Integral.
JEE Main counselling do have the provision of mock seat allotment. JoSAA will conduct a total of two rounds mock seat allotment where candidates can check which college they get based on the choice filled by them. Candidates after registering for the counselling have to enter their preferred choice of college and branch in the order of preference. The allotment of seats will be made on the basis of All India Rank and choices filled by the candidate.
