Getting high grades is not the most important thing in today’s world. Skills and talent of students make them successful in the real corporate world.
JEE Main is an important exam for many students waiting to get admission into some of the top engineering colleges in the country. However, only a few are able to score well and crack into these top colleges. Many of the aspirants end up disappointed with their low score and begin to think their next step. So, this article will help such students get through the most basic questions that come to any student’s mind after getting their JEE Main score.
Should I drop a year?
Well, like my previous article mentioned, dropping a year is not an option that every student willingly wants. So, if you are motivated enough to surely get your preferred college by dropping a year, then I would say, Go for it. Moreover, if destiny chooses your path, you may get the best out of your life by just devoting another year. However, if there’s a chance you think that you won't be able to make to the mark, there are other better colleges that could get you into your desired dreams. So, if you really think that dropping a year could be a waste of your time then, you can go ahead with other preferences. Here, the choice is yours as no option is a bad option.

Should I opt for admission in other colleges?
If one chooses not to drop a year and go ahead with other preferences, there’s a bunch of other colleges you might be interested in. There are many colleges that lend a hand to the students who scored less in JEE Main. Moreover, as it is said, getting high grades is not the most important thing in today’s world. Skills and talent of students make them successful in the real corporate world. Providing a list of all the colleges is not possible, yet, some colleges like Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Amity School of Engineering, Chandigarh University, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology and more could be of great help.
Should I take up counselling sessions?
Looking for counselling sessions to get the best out of yourself? You must give it a try. Whether you have a good score or not, JEE Main counselling sessions might help you get your desired area while knowing your ability and skills more than marks. Applying for the counselling could prove a good option to any student with low scores as it might possibly get you a college without any hurdles. Moreover, there are seven chances provided by JEE Mains sessions for any student to get the best of hopes. So, try to make the best of your chance and apply with a list of a bunch of colleges during the counselling sessions.
Should I appear for JEE Main April session?
With a number of increased students trying to apply for top colleges with JEE Mains, there are two attempts granted to the students since 2018. These attempts are held in the months of January and April. Now, that the students have two chances in the same year, one must give it a try.
Sometimes we just lose ourselves because of nervousness and make silly mistakes because of which we lose marks. Now, when you have two attempts, try to avoid or repeat the mistakes in the second attempt and give another shot in the month of April. This time you might get a chance to hit a good score if you do not let your nervousness or any other hurdle come in between.

With a JEE Main percentile of 90.94 and CRL rank ~1.4 Lacs (female, general category), you have realistic chances in mid-tier NITs (later rounds), state government colleges, and strong private universities in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore for ECE/EEE. Top NITs/IIITs are unlikely, but good regional option

With a JEE Main CRL rank of ~79,364 and an EWS category rank of ~11,884, you have a realistic chance of securing CSE in several mid-tier NITs, newer IIITs, and some GFTIs.
