If you have a very low score and you know counselling sessions will not be of any help, you must proceed further with the next colleges without wasting anytime further.
BITSAT exam is not a hard shell to crack. However, proper planning and motivation is the key to qualifying any exam and the same applies to BITSAT as well. This exam is for getting admission into BITS campuses. The exams focus mainly on the key aspects of PCM subjects precisely to test students’ knowledge as an engineering aspirant.
Well, like I always say, dropping a year is only good if you are confident enough that you will be able to crack the exam next time. BITSAT is quite simple. However, it is quite important to have a backup plan . Well, in my case, I was able to get through the exam with a good score, fortunately. But, if you witness scores below your expectations and wish to have a better choice, I would suggest go on with other colleges if you are not so sure about your second shot.

Now, if you have low scores in BITSAT and you are aspiring to pursue the same career further then there are other top colleges that you can get into, without wasting another session and dropping a year. You cannot get into any of the BITS campuses with low grades but you can still hop on to other colleges admissions. Thus, as a backup or for more options, one should fill the applications of other colleges also.
Counselling sessions are only helpful if the student has already earned around the minimum amount of credits in the exam. Waiting for the counselling sessions might be given a thought but only if the student has scored close to the cut-off or weightage. If you have a very low score and you know counselling sessions will not be of any help, you must proceed further with the next colleges without wasting anytime further. Of course, appear for the counselling sessions if you are close to the cut-off and could get into any campus of BITS. After all, BITS is a perfect choice to pursue your preferred subjects.
If you plan to attempt the exams again, remember a few key points to crack the exams easily. There should be a proper plan with complete dedication and focus to clear the exam next year. If the student follows these key points then one could successfully be able to crack it.
