Only 15 days are left for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE 2020), students studying for JEE might have a lot of doubts in their minds right now.
JEE 2020 is being organised by National Testing Agency (NTA) with a slight change in the exam pattern this year. Here I will make a comparative analysis between JEE 2019 and 2020 exam patterns. It will to help you guys to prepare and strategise for the January as well as for the April exam.

First, there is no change in the number of times JEE will be organised in a year i.e. January and April. Second, students will get the same time frame to attempt the exam i.e three hours.
Till 2019, there were 90 questions in total 30 questions for each subject (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) all objective, but now there are 75 questions in total i.e 25 question for each subject and in that also 20 objective and 5 subjective. There is a change in the marking scheme, too. Previously, the exam was of 360 marks now the exam is of 300 marks. Talking about the 20 objective questions the students will get four marks for a correct answer and a negative mark for each incorrect answer. While for the five subjective questions students will be awarded four marks for each correct answer and zero marks i.e no negative marking for the incorrect answer.
Now comes the first question that is subjective. There are more than two correct options so what if students have one correct and one incorrect answer. So, in that case the student is going to get zero marks i.e the question is going to be considered incorrect. These are the only changes made by NTA.
Guys what we learn from this is that you should be adaptive, surely the level of the exam is going to increase but you need to study accordingly. Remember you are not the only one to give the exam.
According to me, your focus should be on the January exam because a very few students would have prepared for this one also there is time for the April exam so a lot of students will prepare for that exam so it would be tough to score or increase your percentile in that exam.
Since there is very less time left, the very first thing you should do is that you should leave everything aside and just focus on your studies because this is really crucial time and once gone will not come back.
Now, how you should study for the exam. You should pick the topics in which you know that you can attempt the questions and you should do the previous year questions from that topic, besides this, you should study the other scoring topics like

6.Kinematics
It is not the time to study everything or to aim for a score of 180+. I'm not saying it is a bad thing to aim for a high score but everything should be according to time and at this time if you are aiming for 100-120 and manage to achieve it, then it is not at all a bad score. To score you have to be fast, accurate and smart.
Using discretion and picking up the right questions during the exam is very important and should form a part of your exam strategy. Go through each derivation, prepare short notes and most importantly memorise the formulae, definitions and processes. Read the theory and practice examples in the NCERT textbook. It is time to do hard work along with smart work. Time Management is the most important factor in JEE, you should know when to start the next section and for that, you have to solve at least one previous year’s question paper per day.
At least one paper in two days, that would be really beneficial. It will increase your accuracy and speed also a lot of people are having exam phobia it builds your test-taking skills and exposes you to the real exam-like scenarios. During the exam always give 10 min for analysing the question paper. It will let you choose the question that you should attempt first. Lastly, stay calm.

Yes, NTA has postponed the release of JEE Main 2026 session 1 result. The new release date for the session 1 scorecard is by February 16.

JEE Main exam is not mandatory for admission in Prestige University BTech courses. Students can apply with a valid score of other entrance exams as well. The other accepted exams are CUET/ SAT/ ACT and PU Aptitude Test.

Yes, SRM do accepts JEE Main score for admission to a few programs at certain campuses. As per the details available in the official website - "Any Candidate qualified in IIT JEE Main/SAT will be admitted directly even if the candidate doesn't take SRMJEEE."
