VITEEE Dress Code 2026: The Vellore Institute of Technology does not issue any guidelines regarding VIT exam dress code. However, students are advised to follow guidelines and instructions provided by VIT Group of Institutions to appear for BTech engineering entrance exam.
To attempt VITEEE 2026, students must report to the exam centre at least 2 hours before the commencement of the test. In addition, one must wear light and comfortable clothing, for hassle-free checking. In addition, students must maintain discipline and follow all prescribed VITEEE exam day guidelines along with VIT exam dress code as prescribed by Vellore Institute of Technology. VIT exam dates have been released. Vellore Institute of Technology will conduct VITEEE 2026 from April 28 to May 3. Registrations are ongoing, and the last date to apply is March 31, 2026.

VITEEE Dress Code for Male and Female Candidates
As mentioned above, VIT Vellore does not prescribe any dress code for male and female candidates. But to avoid the frisking process, it is advised that students must wear -
- Formal or semi-formal attire
- Wear light-coloured and loose clothes
- Avoid wearing jewellery or metallic accessories such as belts, caps, thick-soled shoes, mehendi, etc.
- Avoid wearing googles or garments with bold prints.

VITEEE 2026 slot booking is expected to start in second week of April 2026. Official link for slot booking will be available at official website. Students who complete their registration for exam will have to log in and book their preferred slots.
No, candidates can not get direct admission in VIT Vellore. The college provides an admission process to students on the basis of an entrance exam for the majority of the courses. Some of the popular national-level entrance exams accepted by the college are NATA, GATE, CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, etc.
No, to get admission into VIT Chennai MBA candidates have to either appear for entrance exams, such as CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT and ATMA. Candidates need to have completed their graduation with a minimum 60% aggregate.
Admission into the MBA at VIT Chennai takes place through personal interviews conducted as part of the selection process. Hence, there are no direct admissions into VIT Chennai and all admissions in the MBA programme take place through a series of selection rounds.
What not to carry on VITEEE Exam Centre?
Applicants must avoid carrying following items inside the exam hall. Carrying such items can cause complications in verification process. The prohibited items include -
- Stationary items, such as text materials, geometry box, graphs or charts or any study materials.
- Any electronic devices, such as calculators, bluetooth, pagers, digital watches, headphones, etc.
- Wallets, handbags or purses
- Sharp or blunt objects, such as scissors or paper cutter
- Food items or packed food items like juices or snacks
Documents to carry on VITEEE 2026
Along with following VIT dress code, students must also carry following documents to the VITEEE exam centre -
- Valid photo ID proof (must be original and not-expired)
- VITEEE admit card 2026 with a watermark on it (must be printed on an A4-size paper)

Vellore Institute of Technology will prepare a merit list based on the candidate's performance in the VITMEE 2025. Candidates whose name is on the VITMEE merit list will be eligible for the counselling and document verification process. As per the VITMEE counselling process, the seat allotment is done purely based on merit rank. Applicants having valid GATE exam scores will be given preference for admission.

VITEEE 2026 Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates appearing for VIT 2026 Engineering Entrance Exam must follow the VITEEE 2026 exam day guidelines, which are as follows -
- One must reach the test centre at least 2 hours before
- Once, candidate reach their exam centre, they will have to undergo biometric registration, which is a part of attendance process along with hall ticket verification process. This process will be conducted either before or during exam or both.
- Rough sheet will be provided inside exam hall to do calculations.
- No applicant can leave the exam hall before time.

VIT Exam Reporting Time and Hall Instructions
The reporting time for VITEEE exam can be checked below -
Inside the exam hall, candidates will be closely monitored through CCTV camera individually. Students must not sit idle for more than 20 minutes on their system. If done, thene he/she will be examined by the VIT observer and can lead to cancellation of candidature. Overall, it is mandatory to follow VITEEE hall instructions to avoid issue during the examination.
