I feel heavenly following my recent placement, given that the company, as well as the profile, make up for a dream job. I cherish the job profile and the responsibilities. And I cannot thank Asia-Pacific Institute (AIM) enough for all it did to equip me with skills that helped me grab this opportunity with Birla Sunlife.
I pursued BCom (Hons) from the School of Open Learning (Delhi University). I wanted to be a Chartered Accountant, but then I dropped the idea and decided to do PGDM. I chose PGDM Finance at AIM because I was very much interested in mutual funds and portfolio management.

How I Cracked College Admission?
"Practice is the Key to Perfection"
I appeared for MAT and cleared the same with good percentile followed by GD and PI. To earn a good score in MAT exam you need to be up to date with current affairs, General Knowledge and should possess good command in English. Admission authorities at GD and PI sessions check your presence of mind and judge your personality traits, your communication, leadership, and presentation skills. To clear GD and PI you need to practice a lot to hone your communication skills. You need to listen to radio shows, TV talk shows, news shows for the content and accurate pronunciation.
Why did I choose Asia-Pacific Institute to pursue PGDM?
I came to know about AIM through internet.
Ranking
Choosing a PGDM college is really a very daunting task. I only preferred rankings for selecting my PGDM destination. I truly considered rankings as one vital tool that provides an insight of a particular PGDM college. I use to read Business Today a lot during admission time to understand the criteria behind typical ranking system. I learned about the parameters used to rank a college like learning experience, living experience, placement performance, selection process, establishment and future orientation. I saw AIM earning good rankings among other B-schools and was impressed.
For me rankings serve as point of comparison among the best B-schools in India and they even represent a comprehensive view of the same. After all, college is an investment, and its rankings give you some insight into whether making this very investment will be profitable or not.
How my college life transformed me?
I sum up my experience at AIM as truly 'MAGICAL'.
What I am today is only because of all the valuable teachings offered by my faculty members. AIM played a key role in transforming me.
The teaching pedagogy at AIM ingrained confidence and leadership skills in me I learned flexibility and gained confidence to initiate things. Teaching methods helped me improve my presentation skills and I learned the art of effective communication too. I learned a lot during classroom sessions infused with practical and case-based questions.
It also organises workshops on latest academic and industry related issues and conducts extensive personality development programs for the students to cater to increasing demand of the global market scenario.
Centre for Corporate Relations at AIM: The CCR is one of the unique features of AIM that helped me a lot to become industry-specific. It offers effective interface with industry and business.
CCR invites senior professionals from industry sectors like IT/ITES, Service Industry, Banking & Finance, PR/Advertising, Healthcare, Management Consulting etc., so that students stay updated on the emerging new trends in the job market out there. Students' interactions with professionals offer a totally awesome experience which inspires new dimensions, that combines soft-skills, hard skills and general knowledge.
CCR also offered pre-interview preparation to actually summarise and incorporate the academic learning of the course. I am really thankful to Dr Jitender Bhandari for changing my life and helping me chase my dreams.
Quant sessions: Quant sessions under this initiative improved my analytical skills a lot. Through such study session, I learnt to think critically about quantitative data and the inferences that can be drawn from these data. These skills are valuable in various ways in daily routine, further education, careers, and overall citizenship.
Words of wisdom: Keep a vision for growth, be flexible to changes, and remember that success is the result of hard work and determination.
I am proud to be part of a prestigious institute like AIM and I am going to miss each and every thing about AIM. My experiences in college will definitely help me in achieving my goals. I am extremely satisfied with my selection as Assistant Manager-Marketing at Birla Sun Life.
