NBE has introduced some changes in NEET PG 2021 pattern which is making candidates a little worried. Read what experts have suggested to them to improve the overall score.
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) on February 23, 2021, started the registration process for NEET PG 2021 exam on its official website nbe.edu.in. Commencement of the NEET PG 2021 application process came as a big relief to candidates who were waiting anxiously for NEET PG 2021 exam dates. But there was an element of surprise in the official brochure as the NBE had introduced some major changes in the NEET PG 2021 exam pattern. As per the information brochure, the total number of questions in the NEET PG 2021 exam will be less this time. There will be 200 objective questions in NEET PG 2021 exam. Last year, the NEET PG 2021 paper comprised 300 objective questions from three sections. Experts believe NEET PG 2021 question paper will be lengthy and more questions will be asked from the clinical section.
NEET PG 2021: Changed exam pattern
The NBE has introduced some major changes in the NEET PG 2021 exam pattern as the total number of questions and maximum marks obtained have been reduced. Aspirants must note that there will be 200 MCQ questions comprising three sections, A, B, and C. Earlier, the NEET PG 2021 exam paper comprised 300 questions comprising 50, 100, and 150 each from three sections. The total number of marks has also reduced from 1200 to 800 this time.

The NBE has yet not released NEET PG 2021 syllabus which led candidates anxious and confused about the NEET PG 2021 exam pattern. They have the least idea about subject-wise weightage for NEET PG 2021 question paper.
“The examination shall be a multiple-choice question delivered using computers network (CBT) as per scheme prescribed. The exam comprises 200 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in English language only. Time allotted is 3 hrs 30 min,” the official information brochure says.
Change in NEET PG 2021 exam pattern: What experts say
“There are lots of chances that more clinical questions will be asked, paper will be lengthy but this is the opportunity for the aspirants who have command on the clinical part,” said Gaurav Tyagi, Founder of Career Xpert.
“It can be presumed that questions based on videos, gifs will be more and one liner questions from first and second prop i.e. Anatomy and Non-Clinical branches can be there. Students should review the previous year questions from these sections, this can help them to score good marks,” Tyagi further added.
Providing tips to candidates for NEET PG 2021 exam, he said, “Students should not panic and stay focused. Students should focus on the clinical part and give their best.”
Another expert believes that more weightage will be given to clinical concepts this time. "NEET PG 2021 course is same, while the type of questions will change," he tweeted. While replying to his tweet, one candidate said, "the subject-wise weightage can help in better preparations."
Conducted by NBE, NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation) is the national level exam for admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/MS (Master in Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country. The NEET PG 2021 examination, scheduled to be held on April 18, 2021, is conducted annually in computer-based mode to fill 10,821 MS seats, 19,953 MD seats, and 1,979 PG Diploma seats offered by various medical colleges in India.
