The National Testing Agency will conduct the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) on May 3, 2026. The exam will be conducted nationwide in a single shift from 2.00 PM to 5 PM. The NEET exam is conducted online as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). After the exam, the NTA will release the NEET 2026 result within a month from the exam. NEET 2026 Government College MBBS Seats

The NTA release the number of candidates who appear in the NEET Exam. Last year, over 2 million candidates registered and appeared in the exam. As per the official Counselling seat allotment sheet, there are 443 Government Medical Colleges that offer 61,558 MBBS seats across the nation. Alternatively, we can say that the candidates having a rank of Thirty Thousand ( in the open category) can get the Government seat. These numbers do not include the seats offered by Government Colleges, which run through society. If we include those also, the number of available MBBS seats in Government-related colleges will become 63,683.

Q:   Can I get AIIMS with 550 NEET scores?
A: 

The AIIMS accepts NEET scores for admission to the MBBS. Students need to obtain the NEET cut off percentile and scores to get shortlisted for counselling in AIIMS MBBS course. The NEET 2025 cutoff scores for generally category was 686-144. So, a general category student with 550 marks cannot take admissions to AIIMS. 

Q:   What is the difference between the NEET city allotment slip and NEET admit card?
A: 

The NEET city allotment slip and admit card are different documents. The NEET city intimation slip only informs about the allotted exam city. However, the NEET admit card informs about the allotted NEET exam centre. The admit card also contains the exam day instructions along with the NEET Self-Declaration Undertaking form.

Candidates must take the NEET admit card to their exam centres as without it they are not allowed to take the test. However, students do not need to carry the NEET exam city slip to the exam centre.
