The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2026 cut-off marks for Part-A were released by IIT Bombay on February 05, 2026. The cut-off scores are determined based on statistical parameters, specifically the mean and standard deviation of Part-A scores. The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (UCEED 2026) are 70.86 and 25.77, respectively.

The cut-off marks for UCEED Part A for B.Des will be around 55-60 for General Category, 48-56 for OBC/EWS and 30-35 for PWD category.  To get admission in top IITs through UCEED, candidates should score between 125 to 150+. Scoring 200+ is ideal for admission to top IITs for B.Des. A rank below 15-20 for General is required for admission.

All candidates who appeared in the UCEED Entrance Exam will be able to download their UCEED Score Card from March 10, 2026, on the UCEED website. All shortlisted candidates will be allotted a common merit rank (All India Rank). All shortlisted candidates are considered qualified candidates in UCEED 2026. Rank list will be prepared based on the total marks (Part-A marks and Part-B marks combined) in UCEED 2026.

UCEED 2026 Admission Cut-off Vs Qualifying Cutoff

UCEED 2026 cut-off will be available for all candidates who have appeared in the national-level design entrance exam. IIT Bombay will release the cut-off in the form of mean and standard deviations. The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (UCEED 2026) are 70.86 and 25.77, respectively. The UCEED 2025 Part-A has a mean score of 61.50 and a standard deviation of 25.69

The candidate needs to check the cut-off for their applied category and their admission chances. It is mandatory to meet the cut-off, or else the candidate will be out of the race for admission. The qualifying cutoff is prepared by considering UCEED 2026 Part A marks. Candidates securing the cutoff marks will have their Part B paper evaluated. Candidates who meet the cut-off will be issued UCEED 2026 merit ranks. The admission cut-off for UCEED 2026, as the name suggests, will be released at the time of admission. It is the minimum mark a candidate needs to secure in the UCEED 2026 exam to be considered for seat allotment and admission. Also, the admission cutoff will be released for all the participating colleges. The scorecard for UCEED 2026 will be available for download from March 10, 2026.

UCEED 2026 Part-A Cut-off Calculation

Marks obtained in UCEED Part-A will be used to shortlist candidates. The cut-off (𝛿) for Part-A marks to shortlist candidates in the OPEN category will be 𝜇 + (𝜎⁄2) = 𝛿, where 𝜇 and 𝜎 are the average marks and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by ALL the candidates in Part-A of UCEED 2026. The 𝜇, 𝜎, and 𝛿 will be rounded-off to two decimal places. The candidates belonging to the reserved categories shall have to fulfil a relaxed cut-off mark, which will be 0.9𝛿 for OBC-NCL/EWS, 0.5𝛿 for SC/ST/PwD, where 𝛿 is the cut-off mark for the Open category.

IIT UCEED 2026 Cut-off Formula

  • General/Open Category: Mean + (Z × Standard Deviation) = 61.50 + (0.2 × 25.69) = 66.63 (Rounded to 100 for the final cut-off)
  • OBC-NCL & EWS: 90% of General cut-off
  • SC/ST/PwD: 50% of General cut-off

Expected Cut-off Percentage for Different Categories

The expected cutoff for different categories are as follows.

Category Minimum % in Each Section Overall Qualifying Score
Open/General 10% 100
OBC-NCL/EWS 9% 90
SC/ST/PwD 5% 50

The Part A cut-off will be used to shortlist candidates. Part B answer booklets will be evaluated for qualified candidates. Total marks and category-wise UCEED 2026 merit ranks will be issued to candidates who meet the Part A cut-off. In the case of candidates who fail to meet the cut-off, the UCEED 2026 scorecard will only include Part A marks.

Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
Q:   Can I get admission in IIT Hyderabad with 100 merit rank in UCEED 2026?
A:

The closing rank for IIT Hyderabad was 43. So, if you secure a merit rank of 100 in the UCEED 2026 exam, you chances of admission to the B. Des will be very low. To have a good chance of admission into the institute, you must target a UCEED merit rank within the top 40. However, note that if you belong to reserved categories, in that case the cut-off would be lower. Further, you will be considered for admission under both the reserved category and the open category.

Q:   Will UCEED cut-off be round specific?
A:

Yes, UCEED Cutoff will be round specific. It will be released separately for each round of seat allotment. Candidates who meet cut-off criteria in their categories will be considered for admission to the B. Des programme.

Cut-off for each round will be different for various categories like OPEN, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, etc.

Q:   Will IIT Bombay conduct Spot counselling round for UCEED 2026?
A:

UCEED 2026 counselling will be conducted by IIT Bombay. The counselling process will have five rounds.

UCEED 2026 Joint Admission Process will not have any spot rounds. If there are any spot counselling rounds, it will be notified.
