Ministry of Education has decided to waive off 75% eligibility criteria under Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 for admission to NITs, IIITs, SPAs and other CFTIs. Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal has shared the announcement through a tweet today that "considering the decision taken for IIT JEE(Advanced) and in line with the decision taken for the last academic year, it has been decided to waive off the 75% marks (in class 12 exam) eligibility criteria under Joint Entrance Examination (Main) for the next academic year 2021-2022".
Earlier, students have requested Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal to scrap 75 percent eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2021. After the declaration of JEE Main 2021 dates by the Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, students have swarmed his Twitter handle with various requests and queries.

As per the previous JEE Main 2021 eligibility criteria, candidates should have secured at least 75 percent marks in the Class 12 examination or be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12/qualifying examination conducted by the respective Boards to be eligible for admission. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks criteria in JEE Main 2021 was 65 percent in Class 12 /qualifying examination.
JEE Main 2021 will be held in four sessions - February, March, April and May 2021. The application form of JEE Main 2021 is available until January 23 while the payment of application fee can be done til January 24. Candidates will also be given an opportunity to correct mistakes in the JEE Main 2021 application form from January 27 to 31.

No, Shetty Institute of Technology does not accept JEE Main. Students do not have to submit JEE scores. Instead, students need to appear for the CET exam. The institute may accept other tests for management quota admissions.

SGT University considers JEE Main scores for admission to BTech. Candidates are also selected for BTech courses based on their merit or CUET scores. However, the preference is given to candidates with JEE Main scores.
