Shivansh Nair achieved 100 percentile in January session of JEE Main 2024. This 17 year old aims to study computer science engineering at IIT Bombay. Talking about his preparation strategy he mentioned that he used to take notes of things taught and revise them at home. Question Congratulations for your outstanding performance in exam. What was your reaction upon knowing JEE Main 2024 result?
Shivansh Upon getting result I was very happy because I had achieved 100 percentile with 295 marks.

Shivansh I pursued my education from CBSE board at Heritage Xperiential Learning School in Gurugram.
Question What is your score in JEE Main 2024?
JEE Main mock tests are available online on nta.ac.in. Download these for free or you can also practice online. You can download JEE Main mock test papers for free from Shiksha page as well.
Shivansh I have secured total of 295 marks with scores of 95 in Chemistry and 100 in both Physics and Maths.
Question Are you also appearing for any other exams?
Shivansh Yes. I plan to take JEE Advanced exam.
Question Why do you want to study engineering? Which branch would you be interested in? Any reason
Shivansh From young age, I was drawn to engineering due to my keen interest in Mathematics. My interest is in pursuing specialisation in Computer Science.
Question When did you start your JEE Main preparation? Tell us about your preparation strategy and daily routine for JEE Main?
Shivansh I started preparing for JEE Mains in class 11th. I had started a bit in class 9th. At first I was focusing on JEE Advanced until December and then I switched to preparing for JEE Mains. Lastly, I dedicated myself to taking one to three mock tests daily. Especially those based on past papers were helpful.
Question How is preparation for JEE Main different from boards?
Shivansh Compared to board exams Maths section of JEE Mains is more challenging. While Physics and Chemistry also have higher level of difficulty they are not as demanding as Maths. Therefore, compared to preparing for board exams more emphasis needs to be given to Maths for JEE Mains.
Question Did you take coaching for JEE and if yes from where?
Shivansh Yes, I began my JEE preparation in class 9th by joining Vidyamandir Classes. Coaching centres have experienced teachers. They not only offer motivation and guidance but also provide quality study materials.
Question Mock tests and sample papers how did you practise with help of these? Do you think practising from previous year papers helps and how?
Shivansh Yes practicing with previous years paper is helpful. Firstly these JEE Mains previous year's papers provide clear insight into format and style of questions that can be expected in exam. Secondly, regularly practicing through these papers helps in building comfort level with exam environment. This not only helps in understanding the exam structure but also enhances time management skills and boosts confidence.
Question Are there any special books that you feel have helped with your JEE Main preparation?
Shivansh I believe that there is no specific set of books beneficial for JEE Mains preparation most standard books suffice.
Question Did you face any problem during the JEE Main exam? Which subject was easiest and which was toughest?
Shivansh In my JEE Main exam shift, I found Chemistry and Physics to be easier compared to Mathematics which was quite challenging. I noticed that Mathematics section was somewhat easier than what I had encountered in papers from previous years.
Question What do you think are key factors behind your success in JEE Main?
Shivansh I believe essential elements contributing to my success include support from my parents and teachers dedication and effort I have invested.

Shivansh I would like to say that key to success lies in consistency and hard work.

JEE Main counselling do have the provision of mock seat allotment. JoSAA will conduct a total of two rounds mock seat allotment where candidates can check which college they get based on the choice filled by them. Candidates after registering for the counselling have to enter their preferred choice of college and branch in the order of preference.
