Question: Why do you want to study engineering? When did you decide to study engineering? Which branch would you be interested in? Any reason
Shivansh: From a young age, I was drawn to engineering due to my keen interest in Mathematics, a passion that was nurtured by my parents' encouragement to delve deeper into the subject. The realization that engineering was my calling came as I learned more about the field, with the JEE standing out for aspiring engineers. My interest particularly lies in pursuing a specialization in Computer Science.
Q: Should I opt for sectional or full-length mock test for JEE Main?

Q: From where can I get JEE Main mock test for free?
Q: How many mock tests should I take before appearing for JEE Main 2025?
Q: From where can I get the mock test papers for the preparation of JEE Mains?
Question: JEE Main was conducted as a computer based test. What is your opinion about it? What preparation strategy did you adapt for the computer based exam?
Shivansh: I feel like a computer based test is better than a pen and paper exam. Primarily because they significantly reduce the likelihood of errors often encountered in OMR exams. To facilitate familiarity with the computer-based testing format, VMC conducted five CBT practice sessions. These sessions were immensely beneficial, especially during the final JEE Main 2024 exam.
Question: When did you start your JEE Main preparation? Tell us something about your preparation strategy and daily routine for JEE Main?
Shivansh: I started preparing for JEE Mains in class 11th, though I had started a bit in class 9th. At first, I was focusing on JEE Advanced until December, and then I switched to mainly preparing for JEE Mains. In the final stretch, I dedicated myself to taking one to three mock tests daily, a practice I believe is crucial for success. These mock exams, especially those based on past papers, were instrumental in my preparation.
Question: How is the preparation for JEE Main different from boards?
Shivansh: Compared to board exams, the Maths section of the JEE Mains is notably more challenging. While Physics and Chemistry also present a higher level of difficulty, they are not as demanding as Maths. Therefore, compared to preparing for board exams, a greater emphasis needs to be placed on mastering Maths for the JEE Mains.
Question: Did you take coaching for JEE and if yes from where? What are the benefits of coaching according to you?’
Shivansh: Yes, I began my JEE preparation in class 9th by joining Vidyamandir Classes. I find this to be beneficial because coaching centers have experienced teachers. These teachers not only offer motivation and guidance but also provide quality study materials.
Question: Mock tests and sample papers – how extensively did you practise with the help of these? Do you think practising from the previous year papers help and how?
Shivansh: Yes, I am convinced that practicing with previous years paper is beneficial for several reasons. Firstly, these JEE Mains previous year's papers provide a clear insight into the format and style of questions that can be expected in the exam, allowing students to familiarize themselves with the type of content they will face. Secondly, regularly practicing through these papers helps in building a comfort level with the exam environment, effectively simulating the pressure and time constraints of the actual exam day. This not only helps in understanding the exam structure but also enhances time management skills and boosts confidence.
Question: Are there any special books that you feel have helped with your JEE Main preparation?
Shivansh: I believe that there is not a specific set of books beneficial for JEE Mains preparation; most standard books suffice. The key is to engage thoroughly with the material. It's not enough to simply skim through a few questions from a book. Comprehensive and diligent study of the concepts and practice of problems from these JEE Mains 2024 books is essential for effective preparation.
Question: Did you face any problem during the JEE Main examination? Which subject was the easiest and which was the toughest in JEE Main? What do you think is a tough thing to manage during the JEE Main exam?
Shivansh: In my JEE Main exam shift, I found Chemistry and Physics to be relatively easier compared to Mathematics, which was quite challenging. Nevertheless, I noticed that the Mathematics section was somewhat easier than what I had encountered in papers from previous years. A particular challenge in the paper was the assertion and reasoning questions in Physics, which were a bit unclear at first glance. However, after giving it some thought, I was able to correctly answer all of these questions.
Question: Did you face any technical glitches during the exam? What is your opinion on the way the exam was conducted?
Shivansh: I did not find any glitches in the exam. I feel like the exam was conducted in a very good way. There were no issues at my center.
Question: What do you think are the key factors behind your stupendous success in JEE Main?
Shivansh: I believe the essential elements contributing to my success include the support from my parents and teachers, the dedication and effort I have invested, and my routine practice with mock tests followed by their thorough analysis.

Shivansh: For the future aspirants, I would like to say that the key to success lies in unwavering consistency and relentless hard work.
