JEE-Main-2022-Syllabus

JEE Mains 2025 Syllabus pdf has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Several topics of class 11 and 12 have been removed from the JEE Main syllabus 2025. The deleted topics of JEE Mains 2025 syllabus are

  • Mathematics: Mathematical Induction and Mathematical Reasoning units have been removed. 
  • Physics: In Physics, the Communication Device unit has been removed from the syllabus. 
  • Chemistry: Surface Chemistry, States of Matter, General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Metals, s-block elements, Hydrogen, Environmental Chemistry, Alcohol Phenol and Ether, and Polymers chapters have been removed.

JEE Main Syllabus 2025: Subject and Topic-Wise Details

Candidates can check below the details of subject-wise topics which constitute JEE Mains 2025 syllabus. Topics that will be asked in the exam for all three papers, Paper 1, Paper 2A and Paper 2B are given with details in JEE syllabus 2025.

JEE Mains Syllabus 2025 for Physics

The syllabus of JEE Mains 2025 for Physics is divided into two sections, Section A, which constitutes the theory part and has a weightage of 80% in the exam, and Section B containing practical components or experimental skills has a 20% weightage in the exam. The topics of JEE Main syllabus 2025 for Physics are from class 11 and 12 syllabi.

Vernier callipers-its use to measure the internal and external diameter and depth of a vessel

Simple Pendulum-dissipation of energy by plotting a graph between the square of amplitude and time.

Kinematics

Metre Scale - the mass of a given object by the principle of moments.

Work, energy and power

Young's modulus of elasticity of the material of a metallic wire.

Properties of solids and liquids

The surface tension of water by capillary rise and effect of detergents.

Gravitation

Co-efficient of Viscosity of a given viscous liquid by measuring terminal velocity of a given spherical body

Laws of motion

Plotting a cooling curve for the relationship between the temperature of a hot body and time

Oscillations and waves

Speed of sound in air at room temperature using a resonance tube

Electronic devices

Specific heat capacity of a given (i) solid and (ii) liquid by method of mixtures.

Kinetic theory of gases

The resistivity of the material of a given wire using a metre bridge.

Current electricity

The resistance of a given wire using Ohm's law.

Electromagnetic induction and alternating currents

Resistance and figure of merit of a galvanometer by half deflection method.

Magnetic effects of current and magnetism

The focal length of; (i) Convex mirror (ii) Concave mirror, and (ii) Convex lens, using the parallax method

Optics

The plot of the angle of deviation vs angle of incidence for a triangular prism.

Electromagnetic waves

Refractive index of a glass slab using a travelling microscope.

Atoms and nuclei

Characteristic curves of a p-n junction diode in forward and reverse bias

Electrostatics

Characteristic curves of a Zener diode and finding reverse break down voltage

Dual nature of matter and radiation

Characteristic curves of a transistor and finding current gain and voltage gain.

 

Identification of Diode. LED, Transistor. IC. Resistor. A capacitor from a mixed collection of such items.

 

Using a multimeter to: (i) Identify the base of a transistor (ii) Distinguish between NPN and PNP type transistor (iii) See the unidirectional of current in case of a diode and an LED. (iv) Check the correctness or otherwise of a given electronic component (diode, transistor or IC).

The JEE Main paper 2 syllabus for BPlan has three subjects, Mathematics, Aptitude and Planning. Q. Is JEE Main syllabus the same for Paper 1 and Paper 2?

A. No! JEE Main syllabus for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are entirely different. Paper 1 is conducted for BTech admission and has topics from Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Paper 2 is conducted for BArch and BPlan and has topics from Maths, Aptitude common while drawing for B.Arch and Planning for BPlan.

Yes. Students with valid JEE Main scores can apply for admissions through the WBJEE counselling. However, these students will be eligible for allotment only in the 10% approved seats offered by the self-financing colleges and institutes participating in the state-level counselling.

Yes the SRMJEEE paper pattern is similar to JEE Main however, the difficulty level is not equivalent to JEE main and the question paper is adjusted to moderate level difficulty level which will be easy for most students.
