Your approach should be like, you should try to cover each topic for the first time that will help you analyse that which are the topics/chapters in which you are required to give more time and determination and the others a bit less time. Also, that will help you know which subject/topic requires more revision and track.
I am sure that you all must have completed your preparations for one of the toughest entrances. So, here I will be sharing my experience and a few tips which might help you to ace the exam.
First, you should not take much pressure as it is just an exam and if you prepare well you will make it. So, coming on the subject you should not think like that one subject is important and the other one is not that important, all the subjects are equally important and you must try to give equal importance and time to each of them, but you can definitely prioritise the topics or chapters which you like and you can easily score that. Once you prepare the topics in which you are a little weak that will help in the later stage.
Explore colleges based on JEE Main
I will suggest you to start making the notes neatly and chapter-wise the day you start your preparation that will help you a lot at the time of the revision, you will be revising it three to four times so having notes will prevent wastage of time and searching for books every time you have a doubt.
Another important thing is time management, if you manage your time wisely you can give time to other subjects apart from Physics, Chemistry & Maths which will help you in keeping a track on other subjects and have a look into it.
Your approach should be like, you should try to cover each topic for the first time that will help you analyse that which are the topics/chapters in which you are required to give more time and determination and the others a bit less time. As per my experience and discussion the topics which you should not escape at all for:
Maths
- Sets, Relation & Functions
- Permutations & Combinations
- Sequence & Series
- Statistics & Probability
- Trigonometry
- Integral Calculus
Physics
- Laws of Motion
- Work, Energy, and Power
- Thermodynamics
- Kinematics
- Oscillation & Waves
- Electromagnetic Induction
- Optics
- Electronic Devices
- Magnetic Effects of Current
Chemistry
- States of Matter
- Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure
- Chemical Kinetics
- Surface Chemistry
- Block Elements
- Coordination Compounds
- Polymers
- Chemistry in everyday life
You should do as many problems as possible for the above-mentioned topics.
Particularly for Chemistry you should read each topic of NCERT books and for Mathematics solved examples and regarding Physics doing examples and NCERT back question. Avoid many discussions with your friends regarding your preparation as that will just create confusion and tension.
For final preparation, you should only touch those topics which you have thoroughly done and don’t get confused referring many textbooks and preferences just follow and go through your notes.
Preparing the above topics will help you for your board exams also, so don’t worry about that and go through your flow just have a track on your optional subject and English you can cover in a week if you pay a little attention.

Students who gave the JEE Main session 2 exam and want to take admission at IITs should start preparing for the JEE Advanced exam. Students with a more than 98th percentile should start to study for the JEE Advanced exam.
Those who have secured a percentile between 95th and 98th should focus more on

With a JEE Main percentile of 90.94 and CRL rank ~1.4 Lacs (female, general category), you have realistic chances in mid-tier NITs (later rounds), state government colleges, and strong private universities in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore for ECE/EEE. Top NITs/IIITs are unlikely, but good regional option

With a JEE Main 2026 rank of 400,510 (≈ 70 percentile), admission to NITs, IIITs, or top GFTIs through JoSAA counseling is not possible.
Why?
- NITs/IIITs/GFTIs Cutoffs:
- Even for lower-demand branches (Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgy), closing ranks are usually within 2–2.5 Lacs (General category).

With a JEE Main CRL rank of ~79,364 and an EWS category rank of ~11,884, you have a realistic chance of securing CSE in several mid-tier NITs, newer IIITs, and some GFTIs. Top NITs (Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, Allahabad) are out of reach, but options like NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Kota, III
