Many students think that it is next to impossible to score more than 300 in last month to JEE Main. However, I think it is totally achievable and depends on how dedicatedly aspirant studies and prepares. It is important to study smart and have a strategy that can help you score high.
Here are certain tips that will help you know how to score 300+ in JEE Main by preparing in the last month.
When we prepare for a sports match, we study the opponent team, their weak and strong players. Same thing we have to do over here. We need to find out our weak and strong subjects and topics from Class 11th and 12th. Some of the key subjects are:
Explore colleges based on JEE Main
Chemistry
- Physical: 35%
- Inorganic: 30%
- Organic: 35%
When studying in the last month, choose any two topics and master them in it because it possible in chemistry to study in the last movement and sure more. You should have good command over the subject and concepts should be cleared beforehand.
Chemistry takes less time to answer and can score even 90+ in one month preparation the 30 questions of Chemistry will not take more than 30 minutes in the exam. To prepare well, read NCERT daily what you did at the end of the day solve previous years JEE Main questions create personal notes of every chapter for revision last-minute revision.
Study topics that are easy to understand and by studying these can get you 50-60 marks. These include Chemical Bonding, P Block, Equilibrium, Thermodynamics and Coordinate Compound.
Next important subject is mathematics
Why you guys think Maths is difficult it's possible to get good marks if properly studied just we have solved or substitute the value the rest process we know so according to me it's next important subject.
Math
- Algebra: 35%
- Calculus: 32%
- Coordinate Geometry: 25%
- Trigonometry: 8%
In JEE Main, Math is highly predictable with a similar number and types of questions asked in each chapter. Time can be saved if we learn how to answer questions by substituting the values or eliminating options. Some of the easy to study topics that can help you score better include Sequence and Series, Straight Line and Circle, Determinants, Definite Integrals, Application of Derivatives, Vectors and 3D. You can score 60 marks by only studying these topics.
Physics
- Mechanics: 35%
- Heat and Thermodynamics: 10%
- Electrostatics and Magnetism: 18%
- Current Electricity and EMI: 20%
- Optics and Modern Physics: 17%
The level of the paper has increased in the past five years. To cover Physics, pickup easy topics. Try not to over attempt previous years’ papers. Finish the easy topics first, including Gravitation, Waves, Current Electricity, EMI, Modern Physics and Thermodynamics. I would recommend consulting NCERT books as they are the best source and base for JEE Advanced after JEE Main.

With a JEE Main percentile of 90.94 and CRL rank ~1.4 Lacs (female, general category), you have realistic chances in mid-tier NITs (later rounds), state government colleges, and strong private universities in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore for ECE/EEE. Top NITs/IIITs are unlikely, but good regional option

With a JEE Main 2026 rank of 400,510 (≈ 70 percentile), admission to NITs, IIITs, or top GFTIs through JoSAA counseling is not possible.
Why?
- NITs/IIITs/GFTIs Cutoffs:
- Even for lower-demand branches (Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgy), closing ranks are usually within 2–2.5 Lacs (General category).

With a JEE Main CRL rank of ~79,364 and an EWS category rank of ~11,884, you have a realistic chance of securing CSE in several mid-tier NITs, newer IIITs, and some GFTIs. Top NITs (Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, Allahabad) are out of reach, but options like NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Kota, III
