How to download JEE Main 2026 Admit Card: The exam body, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release JEE Main admit card 2026 at, jeemain.nta.nic.in 3 to 4 days before the allotted exam date. As per the past year trends, we can expect that the JEE Main admit card might be out by the third week of January 2026. Prior to the hall ticket, NTA will issue the JEE Mains 2026 city intimation slip which will have allotted exam date and city. To download the JEE Main 2026 admit card, students will have to visit the official website and login using their credentials such as JEE Main 2026 application number and date of birth/password.
Students will have to carry the hall ticket to the exam centre with a valid government-approved photo ID proof. JEE Main Admit Card Dates 2026
Candidates will not be allowed entry inside JEE Main exam centre without the printout of JEE Mains admit card downloaded from the website. It is mandatory to downlaod the JEE Main admit card, take its printout and carry it to the exam centre.
After you doenload the JEE Mains admit card, you have to:
- Paste a photo (same as the one uploaded in the online form before reaching the exam centre).
- Do signature (on the exam day, in presence of invigilator)
- Put left hand thumb impression (before reaching the exam centre)

How to Download the JEE Main 2026 Admit Card
- To download the JEE Main 2026 admit card, candidates can visit the official NTA JEE Main portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- On homepage, look for "Candidate Activity" and click on link for "JEE Main 2026 Session 1 (or 2) Admit Card"
- Choose Login Method, either
- Through Application Number and Password.
- Through Application Number and Date of Birth.
- Fill in Application Number, Password/Date of Birth, and Security Pin (CAPTCHA) displayed on the screen.
- After logging in, the hall ticket will appear on dashboard.
- Click "Download Admit Card" button and take 2-3 clear printouts (preferably in color) for the exam day.
JEE Main 2026 Admit Card: Mandatory Tasks After Downloading Hall Ticket
After downloading the JEE Main 2026 admit card, students must follow the below steps -
- Check for errors in your name, paper, date of birth, category, and exam center. If there are any discrepancies found in the hall ticket students must immediately, contact NTA Helpline at 011-40759000 or email jeemain-nta@gov.in.
- Paste a recent passport-size color photograph in the designated space (it must be the same one used during registration).
- Fix left-hand thumb impression in specified box before reaching center.
- Do NOT sign hall ticket beforehand; this must be done in presence of invigilator at the exam hall.
Documents to Carry on JEE Mains Exam Day
Along with the admit card, students must also carry following things to the exam center, or else they will be denied entry inside the exam hall -
- Printed copy of JEE Main Admit Card with Self-Declaration (Undertaking) filled.
- One original valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License).
- One additional passport-size photograph for the attendance sheet.
- PwD certificate (if applicable).

The Self-Declaration form is a mandatory part of the JEE Main 2026 admit card. It consists of
- Location which is printed on first or second page of admit card PDF.
- It has filling instructions as per which students must paste their passport-sized photograph (same as used in application) and put left-hand thumb impression before reaching exam center.
JEE Main Dress Code and Dos and Don'ts
To ensure a fair conduct of the entrance exam, the exam body, NTA enforces a strict dress code:
- Avoid shoes or boots with thick soles.
- Wear simple slippers, sandals, or flip-flops.
- Choose light, comfortable clothes with short sleeves.
- Avoid flashy clothes. Dress with large buttons, heavy metallic zippers, or pants with too many pockets.
- Avoid wearing heavy Jewellery such as (rings, earrings, bracelets)
- Avoid wearing belts, caps, scarves, and stoles. These are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
- If students belong to a specific religion such as Muslim or Sikh and wear (e.g., Hijab, Turban), they must report to the exam center at least one hour earlier.
- Students must now carry any sort of electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, earphones, wallets, handbags
- For students applying for B.Arch drawing tools, stationery is allowed.
How to retrieve JEE Main Credentials or report Errors?
Sometimes, students might miss their JEE Main credentials, so if any ward is facing similar issues with their JEE Main 2026 admit card, follow these instructions:
- Visit the official website and on the homepage, use "Forgot Application Number" link.
- Enter name, parent's names, and date of birth to receive the credentials via registered email/SMS.
- From the official website if exam body, use "Forgot Password" link to reset via security question or OTP sent to registered mobile number.
- If there are any discrepancies in photo, signature, or name, contact NTA Helpdesk at 011-40759000 or 011-69227700.
