You can score 300+ by focus and practice. According to my experience, we all have a fear about this exam in the back of our mind and this fear can decrease our confidence which drastically changes your result. So, read this article to understand what is the key points to score 300+ in JEE Main.
Correct Study Material
The pressure of heavy books does not lead you to crack this exam, it just discourages you and leaves a bad impression about the syllabus.
For Physics: NCERT books will be the best to begin practising will be a good book for the practice of questions because this book contains some really good back questions, but I don't recommend NCERT for concepts.
Explore colleges based on JEE Main
H C Verma is a book that will clear your concepts and for the preparation in the last month. You should focus on this book more than NCERT.
For Chemistry: NCERT is a great book for Chemistry because it does contain all the concepts and really useful questions. For Organic Chemistry, NCERT is just enough.
OP Tandon book can clear your doubts about Inorganic Chemistry and this book also contains some really good explanations for concepts and MCQs which helps you a lot in your practice.
For Math: Questions of previous years’ are good in NCERT but I don't recommend NCERT for complete Math.
In Math, books don't matter in terms of concepts, the only thing which matter is your practice. So do as much practice of mathematics in this last month guys.
Examination structure
For 2020, the pattern of JEE Main has changed and here is the new pattern:
- Now each subject contains 20 MCQ question and five numeric questions which you have to solve and attain the answer.
- So, the total questions are 75 and each question is of four marks. This leads to a total of 300 marks.
- Negative marking of one mark is only applicable on MCQs, numeric questions don’t contain any negative marking.
Focus point
Focus points of each subject are as follow:
Physics: Modern Physics, Optics and Electromagnetics are good scoring areas of Physics.
Math: Calculus, Coordinate Geometry and 3D Geometry are scoring areas in Math.
Chemistry: For Chemistry, Inorganic and Organic both come in scoring areas, including the last chapters of Class 11 and 12.
Self-evaluation
For self-evaluation, guys believe me nothing can be more sufficient than last year’s exam papers of JEE Main. Practice as many sample papers available on the internet because these sample papers will give a great boost to your confidence.
So, these are some tips for the preparation of JEE Main in the last month, I hope this article will help you in your exam.

With a JEE Main percentile of 90.94 and CRL rank ~1.4 Lacs (female, general category), you have realistic chances in mid-tier NITs (later rounds), state government colleges, and strong private universities in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore for ECE/EEE. Top NITs/IIITs are unlikely, but good regional option

With a JEE Main 2026 rank of 400,510 (≈ 70 percentile), admission to NITs, IIITs, or top GFTIs through JoSAA counseling is not possible.
Why?

With a JEE Main CRL rank of ~79,364 and an EWS category rank of ~11,884, you have a realistic chance of securing CSE in several mid-tier NITs, newer IIITs, and some GFTIs. Top NITs (Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, Allahabad) are out of reach, but options like NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Kota, III
