There are several colleges that take admission without considering JEE Advanced. Some of the top NITs accept you if have a good score in JEE Mains.
Every six in a group of 10 students from non-medical background opt for Engineering. So, all of them start competing with each other and want to do better than the rest of all. All these aspirants prepare for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Now, the question is whether or not these aspirants are capable to crack both the exams. Generally, the answer is no. JEE Advanced is considered as one of the toughest exams in Indian History for primary students. So the thing is if you are not able to catch up with this then don’t worry. If you do well in JEE-MAINS only then, you can take admission into NITs which are very good for your engineering.
So, don’t lose hope on not getting admission to IITs. Also, do wait for the last counselling especially spot round. In spot round, most of the students get a decent branch. And you have also many other opportunities. For instance, there are several other colleges that take admission without considering JEE-Advanced such as BITS Pilani, VIT, Manipal, and these are also good colleges. Even you can take admission into top NITs if you score well in your JEE Main. Some of these NITs include NIT Trichy, NITK and many more. Many top NITs even beat some new IITs, it solely depends on you how well are you doing in your college life.
Explore colleges based on JEE Advanced
Another thing is that if you have scored low then there are several colleges such as those that fall under Indraprastha University, which can you get easily even after a low score.
If you even aren’t able to score well in JEE Main then there are still many options on which you can decide. Dropping a year could be another option, if you think that you still have hope and confidence that you can crack JEE Advanced with a good score then you can go for it. But if already drop a year then it’s not advisable to take another drop. Believe in yourself and everything goes well. But the main point is you have to prepare very well for JEE Advanced so that you don’t have to face such problems as we knew prevention is better than cure. You have to focus on your studies from starting itself and stop using all things that distract you from your goals.
From now on stop procrastinating, be consistent and focus on your highly aimed goals. Only you can achieve your goals, no one other could do this for you. There is another option here and many students follow this and in some way, it’s a good method, too.
What you could do is try to take admission to some good college and start giving time to your JEE Advanced along with your college work, try your luck and if you were able to crack the exam and able to get admission in your preferred college. If not then prepare hard in the same college and grab a good placement. Take a deep interest, stay focused on your goal and keep yourself motivated. Also, the pattern of JEE Advanced is tricky and conceptual. But the condition is you are well-prepared for JEE Main and you are concepts are clear, you can easily score a good rank in JEE Advanced, too.

You will not be eligible for admission as preparatory ranks are not considered under round 1. Since you have already qualified to appear for JEE (Advanced), all you need to do is meet the second criterion and apply for round 2, which will be only conducted if seats from round 1 remain vacant.
