SSC GD Exam Date 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) announced SSC GD 2026 exam dates. The CBT exam will be conducted from February 23, 2026 onwards. The self slot booking for SSC GD Constable exam will begin soon. SSC GD application form correction window was activated on January 8. The last date to edit the application form was January 10 as per SSC GD Constable 2026 dates. SSC GD application form filling window closed on December 31. 

SSC GD 2027 Exam Date

SSC GD 2027 dates have been announced. The notification for the exam will be released in September 2026. Candidates can apply for the exam till October 2026. The exam will be conducted in January-March 2027.

SSC GD 2025

The Commission released the SSC GD final result 2026 at ssc.gov.in, along with the cutoff marks and merit list. Along with the result, cut off marks have been released. The SSC GD medical test (DV/DME) was held from November 12 to December 4, 2025. The SSC GD 2026 PET/ PST result was announced on October 13 at ssc.gov.in. The SSC GD physical test 2026 was held from August 20 to September 12, 2025. The SSC GD Constable exam was held online from February 4 to 25, 2025.

SSC GD Constable Selection Process

The exam process for the SSC GD begins with the release of the official notification. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) issues the official SSC GD notification PDF, mentioning all the important eligibility conditions, vacancies, syllabus, and exam pattern. The exact dates related to the exam are also mentioned on the official SSC GD notification. Candidates can plan their preparation as per the dates of the exam because the SSC GD exam has very nominal eligibility criteria. SSC GD Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process for SSC GD Constable comprises:

  1. CBE (online exam)
  2. PET/ PST (physical test)
  3. DV/ Medical Exam

All those candidates who successfully apply for the exam are required to appear for the SSC GD Constable exam. The exam is of one hour duration and carries a total of 160 marks. The total number of questions asked in the exam is 80, and the marks allotted to each question are two marks. There is a negative marking for incorrect answers of 0.25 marks. Candidates need to qualify for all the stages of the SSC GD exam to finally get selected for the final SSC GD result. In PET/PST, candidates will be assessed based on their height parameters.

Candidates must be of minimum 18 years of age in order to be eligible for SSC GD exam. The upper SSC GD age limit is 23 years. However, the Commission provides a relaxation in the upper age limit for all the reserved categories such as OBC, SC, ST, ExS and others. Yes, there is physical test in the SSC GD Constable exam. Candidates who clear the SSC GD exam (CBE) are called to appear for the physical test which is conducted by the CRPF. The SSC GD physical test comprises following process:
