SSC GD notification 2026 is available now. The Staff Selection Commission issued the SSC GD Constable notification as a PDF download file at ssc.gov.in.

The Commission will conduct the Constable GD in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF and Rifleman GD in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination, 2026 from February 23 onwards. The SSC GD Constable 2025 exam will be conducted online in the computer-based exam (CBE) mode. The Staff Selection Commission organises the exam in various exam centres across India. 

The SSC GD apply online 2026 link was released online. The Commission issued the notification and application form for the SSC GD 2026 session at ssc.gov.in. Candidates need to fill out the form in order to appear for the exam.

Candidates must be of minimum 18 years of age in order to be eligible for SSC GD exam. The upper SSC GD age limit is 23 years. However, the Commission provides a relaxation in the upper age limit for all the reserved categories such as OBC, SC, ST, ExS and others. Yes, there is physical test in the SSC GD Constable exam. Candidates who clear the SSC GD exam (CBE) are called to appear for the physical test which is conducted by the CRPF. The SSC GD physical test comprises following process:

• Candidates need to fulfill SSC GD height/ weight requirement and undergo measurement of height, weight and chest as mentioned in the official notification
• Candidates need to perform a race within the given SSC GD running time limits.

The SSC GD merit list contains the following details:

• Rank of candidates based on their merit in the online CBE exam
• Names of shortlisted candidates
• Roll numbers of shortlisted candidates

The final allocation of candidates is done based on the performance of candidates in the CBE and the preference chosen by the candidates. The SSC GD PST/PET and medical examination (DME) are qualifying in nature. Candidates need to get into the SSC GD final merit list to get shortlisted for post allocation.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conductes the SSC GD exam every year for the recruitment of Constable (General Duty) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and other forces. There are no such repetitive questions in the SSC GD Constable exam. However, the topics and types are generally the same almost every year. The Commission makes changes in the difficulty level of the same topics asked in the exam. Moreover, the Commission may give more weight to one topic this year and another topic next year. For example, there may be more questions on the number system in 2025, and in 2026, the Mathematics section may include more questions on Algebra. So, Candidates need to prepare all the topics and sections carefully.
