On July 29, the Centre had announced that OBC and EWS category students would be provided 27 and 10 percent reservation respectively in All India Quota seats. The Supreme Court had raised objection against the income criteria set for EWS category. The Apex Court had directed the centre to explain how it came to INR 8 lakh income criteria to EWS category.
