JEE Main 2026 January 23 Exam Live: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the third day of JEE Mains session 1 exam TODAY, January 23. Shift 1 will start at 9 am and will end at 12 noon. While the shift 2 exam will begin at 3 pm and end at 6 pm.

The exam, scheduled for today, January 23, is for BE/BTech aspirants in both shifts. Candidates appearing for the exam should not forget to carry essential documents like the JEE Main 2026 admit card, a valid id proof, and other required documents to the exam centre.

LIVE UPDATE: JEE Main Jan 23 Shift 1 reporting starts at 7 am. Gates of the centre will close at 8.30 am.

Chemistry is expected to be moderate & lengthy and NCERT-driven, making it the most scoring section.

Going by the Day 1 and Day 2 trends, the JEE Main January session Shift 2 exam today is expected to be moderate to slightly easier than Shift 1.

Mathematics may still feel lengthy but manageable

Physics is likely to be moderate with a mix of conceptual and numerical questions.

Chemistry is expected to be easy to moderate and NCERT-based, helping students score.

JEE Mains Jan 23 2026 Shift 1 & 2 Exam Day Guidelines

For the shift 1 exam tomorrow, candidates should take care of the following exam day guidelines and instructions:

  • Reach the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the JEE Mains hall ticket 2026.
  • Ensure biometrics on Aadhaar are UNLOCKED
  • Carry all mandatory documents:
    • Carry the printed admit card
    • valid government id proof
    • Photo verification document
    • 2 photographs
    • PWD certificate
    • Non Aadhaar declaration
  • Follow the dress code by NTA - "Shoes with thick soles and garments with large buttons are not allowed".
  • Do not carry prohibited items

    JEE Mains January 23 Exam LIVE: Instructions for Non-Aadhaar Candidates

    The candidates who have not registered for the JEE Main 2026 exam with Aadhaar have to follow the following instructions:

    Live photo mistmatch: Candidates whose live photographs did not match with the photographs available in their Aadhaar during the filling of the application form or those who registered using any other identity proof must carry the photo verification certificate in original duly signed/attested by the Principal /Head Master or any Class-I Gazetted Officer, such as Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM/Class-I Gazetted Officer ofthe Indian Embassy (for NRI candidates), as per format shared in their registered email IDs of the candidates.

    Non aadhaar declaration form: A Non-Aadhaar declaration form is available on the 4th page of the admit card. Candidates should fill it and carry at the exam centre tomorrow.

    JEE Main 2026 Day 3 LIVE: What will be expected Difficulty of JEE Main Jan 23 exam?

    The JEE Main 2026 Day 3 (January 23) exam may have an overall moderate to difficult level across both shifts.

    This year NTA has not followed the difficulty level trends for Maths, Physics and Chemistry like the previous few years. This year, chemistry has seen tougher ratings, which maths has seen moderate to eay rating form cabdiates and experts in the previous shifts.

    This makes it difficult to predict the Jan 23 exam difficulty levels for each subject.

    Until now, the Jan 22 shift 2 exam has been rate the toughest of all shifts.

    NTA will hold day 3 of the JEE Main 2026 BE/BTech exam today, January 23 in two shifts. The questions in the exam will be from Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
