After taking the board examinations, the next step must be to prepare for the entrance examinations. Some of the national-level entrance examinations include JEE Main for engineering, NEET for medicine, and CLAT for law, among others. Students must begin with their preparations alongside their board preparation as most of the syllabus of the entrance examinations is equivalent to the board syllabus. Since the examinations are very competitive and difficult, students must strategize their study schedules properly.

UP Board Class 12 Preparation Tips 2026

For a better preparation, students are suggested to follow the below-mentioned tips:

  • Complete the syllabus well in time: Students must complete the entire syllabus at least a month prior to the commencement of the examinations. They must also ensure that they have enough time in hand to revise the syllabus towards the end.
  • Make notes and a formulae booklet: Notes always come in handy when you are revising the syllabus. It saves a lot of time and makes sure that the students are thorough with all the important topics. Students can also make a little booklet that comprises all the important formulas, charts, and diagrams so that they can have a quick glance at it before going for the examination, a day before, or maybe 5 minutes before going into the examination hall.
  • Eat healthy, sleep well: Studying for long hours makes one tedious. Students must not forget to take breaks in between for freshness. They should also resort to all healthy eating, as while studying we munch on all the junk food which makes one unhealthy and lazy. 7-8 hours of sleep is also very essential in the midst of the preparation for the examinations.
  • Figure out the strong and weak areas: Gain a better understanding of the not-so-strong subjects and spend more time in those areas. Students must ensure that they cover their weaker sections first and simultaneously give time to the stronger areas. Time management skills come in handy at this point. Students need to divide time efficiently and work accordingly.
  • Plan Exam Day: Make sure you complete your syllabus a day before the exam. Last-minute preparations won’t be right for you. Keep everything ready a night before the exam like your admit card, centre address, and stationery items. Also, know the route to reach your exam centre. Make plans to travel to the exam hall with friends or classmates, only when you know they would be punctual.
