IIT Patna

IIT Patna BTech programme in Engineering Physics aims to provide blended courses on contemporary physics and electrical engineering, creating professionals who are equally comfortable with both science and technology. Under IIT Patna’s newly launched BTech programme in Engineering, students will receive sound training in physics. They will be exposed to frontier technologies.

Candidates appearing for the BTech in Engineering Physics will get shortlisted on the basis of IIT-JEE examination scores secured by the students. This 4-year undergraduate programme is divided into eight semesters whereas each academic session is equally divided into two semesters i.e. July to December and January to May.

Q:   Which course is best in IIT Bombay?
A:

BTech is the flagship course of IIT Bombay. It is a four-year full-time course offered at the UG level. NIRF ranked IIT Bombay at 3 under the 'Engineering' category. Talking about placement, the highest international and domestic package offered during IIT Bombay placements 2023 stood at INR 3.67 crore per annum and INR 1.68 crore per annum, respectively. Further, the average package offered during IIT Bombay placements 2023 stood at INR 21.82 LPA. 

Q:   What exactly is taught at IDC IITB for BDes?
A:

IIT Bombay BDes is a four-year course spread across eight semesters. It also offers a five-year integrated BDes + MDes programme. Candidates have an option of doing dual degree at the end of the third year. Both these courses are credit-based. Each specialisation has slightly separate curriculum. Aspirants get to choose an elective in the second semester. Some of the subjects taught are:

  • Advanced Typography
  • Information Graphics
  • Design Detailing   
  • Handmade Character Design
  • Visual Design, etc.
Q:   What are the courses that IIT Patna offers?
A:

IIT Patna offers BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD programmes through its 10 departments. IIT Patna offers four-year BTech programmes at the undergraduate level in 11 specialisations. A two-year MTech programme in 15 specialisations and two-year MSc programmes in three specialisations at the postgraduate level. All 10 departments of IIT Patna also offer a three-year PhD programme. The mode of IIT Patna admission is online. Admission to BTech is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores, followed by JoSSA counseling. Admission to MTech and MSc is subject to GATE and IIT JAM, respectively.

However, students will study approximately 7-8 subjects every semester i.e. Electrical Sciences, Communicative English for Engineers, Mathematics 1, Engineering Drawing and others. Apart from this, students will have a variety of electives subjects for students to choose from.

IIT Indore

In the list of IITs launching new programmes, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore launched the highest number of new courses this year. New additions to IIT Indore course list include BTech in Mathematics and Computing, BTech in Engineering Physics, and BTech in Space Science and Engineering.

IIT Indore will commence admissions into these courses from the 2023 academic session onwards. Admission to these programmes will be done on the basis of JEE Advanced score. Additionally, candidates must have completed Class 12 (or equivalent) examination from any recognised state or central board.

Q:   What is IIT Bombay MBA course structure?
A:

IIT Bombay MBA is a two-year course spread across eight terms. In the first year, students acquire knowledge on all the disciplines of management through 23 rigorous courses. All the academic courses need case studies, course projects and research by students, which provide exposure to the latest practices in the Industry. Students have the option of doing a one-month winter project at the end of first two terms.

The rigor of the academics in the first year culminates in the summer project at the end of the first year of the course. The two-month project done after the completion of all the foundational courses on Management, offers the student a chance to learn management practices through live projects in the industry.

Q:   Does IIT Jodhpur provide MBA programme?
A:

The institute offers a two-year MBA as a full-time course. Candidates can pursue MBA, MBA-Technology or MBA in FinTech and Cyber Security in offline and online modes. Admission to the course is through CAT followed by a personal interview round. Aspirants must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the course. Moreover, the application process is carried out via online mode (iitj.ac.in). It must be noted that the candidate has to apply for CAT and the institute separately.

Talking about the launch of new courses at the institute, Professor Suhas S Joshi, director IIT Indore said, “The institute is constantly introducing several new concepts of translational learning, skill development and new programs under National Education Policy 2020. The faculty recruitment and development of infrastructure for the conduct of these courses is already in progress. The courses are designed keeping in mind the requirements of industry and future technology. The courses are interdisciplinary in nature and students will receive exposure in various cutting-edge fields.”

IIT Hyderabad

BTech programme in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, an industry-oriented programme launched at IIT Hyderabad is a full-time, four-year undergraduate course with eight semesters. Students pursuing this program will get exposure to the role of information technology and computer science in understanding biological data. Candidates will be required to study 7 to 8 subjects each semester. The admission will be done based on JEE advanced rankings.

Through an official statement, BS Murty, Director, IIT Hyderabad said, “These industry-oriented BTechs have been designed to meet the future and current needs of the industry. Students who are interested in pursuing further studies or research after their BTech will have plenty of options to choose from in national and international universities.”

IIT Bombay

IIT Bombay is all set to kickstart a two-year Interdisciplinary Dual Degree Programme (IIDDP) in Quantum Technology. The Centre of Excellence in Quantum Information Computing Science and Technology (QuICST) would offer the programme. BTech students from any branch are eligible to enrol for the IIDDP programme. However, the institute is still in the process of finalizing the structure of the dual degree programme.  

Students enrolled under this programme would focus on quantum technology and project work that could be undertaken with a research group affiliated to the QuICST. Like other dual degree programmes, this new program will allow students to obtain a Bachelors's as well as Masters degree in a span of five years. The programme would be open for BTech students to choose the programme in the third year of their respective course.

IIT Nagpur

IIT Nagpur has launched BTech in Computer Science course with specialisation in Human-Computer Interaction and Gaming Technology. Spreading over four years, the programme will be divided into two semester in each year. In each semester, students will have five to six exams. The institute offers 66 seats under this programme.

Students enrolled in this course would learn the basics of physics needed for game programming. The course will train the students to scientifically add realism to the games during game development. Admission to this programme will be based on JEE Advanced score. BTech CSE (Human-Computer Interaction and Gaming Technology) course fee is INR 7.92 lakh. Students pursuing this course can take up roles such as game animator, game audio engineer, game programmer, game artist, creative game designer, QA game tester, game system designer etc.

IIT Jodhpur

A new Bachelor of Science in Physics with specialisation programme has been launched by the department of Physics at IIT Jodhpur. The programme is a four-year undergraduate programme equally divided into eight semesters. Students interested in basic science and cutting-edge technologies in the broad discipline of physics blended with engineering can apply for the programme. Interested students must note that admission to this programme will be on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. The candidates must have completed class 12 in the Science stream.

JEE (Advanced) exam is the qualifying test for admission to IIT Kanpur BTech. This will be held on Sunday, May 17, and only candidates who clear this exam are eligible for the JoSAA counselling process.

No, candidates can not raise objections in JEE Adv result. The facility to raise objection is provided only in the answer key. It is clearly mentioned in the IIT JEE advanced 2026 information brochure that any request to re-evaluate in result will not be entertained under any circumstances.

No, same questions never get repeated in IIT JEE exam. However, questions with similar concepts can find places in the exam. The question paper of JEE Advanced is prepared considering the syllabus and exam pattern.

You will not be eligible for admission as preparatory ranks are not considered under round 1. Since you have already qualified to appear for JEE (Advanced), all you need to do is meet the second criterion and apply for round 2, which will be only conducted if seats from round 1 remain vacant.

Yes, you can still get admission in Round 2 if you meet eligibility criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) and have a valid JEE (Mains) rank. Also, you must have scored 60% or above in class 12th. For SC/ST/PwD category students, 55% or above is required.

No, candidates have to carry the printout of their JEE Advanced admit card downloaded from the website to appear in the exam. Soft copies will not be accepted.
