JEE Main 2026 April 5 Shift 1 Question Paper (OUT): Download Answer Key Solutions PDF

Candidates can find the link for JEE Main answer key download on the official webste jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA will activate the JEE Main answer key download link on the website a few days after the conclusion of the exam. NTA also publishes the notification for the release of answer key on the official website. Once released, candidates can login to the wesbite using their application number and password/date of birth and download the answer key.

You can go find the marks from the answer key and response sheet. If one answer is correct, it's four marks. For an incorrect one, one mark is reduced. Then you can sum all.

NTA has released the JEE Main Answer key 2026 for session 2. The link to check JEE Main answer key 2026 is available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can download JEE Main answer key response sheet by logging in to the website. 

The scores obtained through JEE Main answer key is marks out of 300. However, the result of JEE Mains is announced in percentile and not marks. Candidates can however get an idea of their percentile using JEE Mains marks vs percentile analysis.

Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2026, also called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains will be announced by the NTA along with the JEE Main 2026 session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2026 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2026. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2026 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2026 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results. 

The cutoff for NITs vary for various branches and also category of students. Specialised branches like computer Science and electronics engineering has higher cutoff in comparison to other branches. Similarly, JEE Main cutoff for general category candidates is higher in comparison to OBC-NCL and SC, ST candidates. There is no minimum qualifying marks in JEE Main. Exam. However, any candidate who wish to appear in JEE Advanced need to obtain the minimum cutoff marks in JEE Main. Candidates gets all India rank in JEE Main on the basis of the score they get in the exam. Admission to the institutes like NITs, IIITs and GFTIs is given on the basis of all India rank of candidates. Candidates who wish to apply for JEE Advanced need to get the minimum JEE Main qualifying cutoff marks only after which they can apply for admission to IITs.

There are two question types in JEE Main exam. Multiple choice questions and numerical ability questions. In MCQ, every question has 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Select the correct option. In numerical ability question type, no options are there. Solve them and write answer using keyword and mouse.

JEE Main question paper is in English, Hindi and language selected when you filled application form. In total, JEE Main is in 13 languages and you can select any language out of available options. You cannot switch language of question paper during exam.

Students can download JEE Main previous year question paper from Shiksha page. Candidates are provided JEE Main previous year question papers from the year 2014 to 2025. The papers can be downloaded as PDF and can be practised to prepare for the exam. JEE Main previous year question paper also helps in understanding the difficulty level of the exam and chapter-wise weightage of questions. Solving JEE Main question papers will help in analysing the preparation level of the exam. 

JEE Main 2026 exam pattern has been released by the NTA. As per exam pattern, the JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech) exam will consist of 75 questions, 25 each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 will be MCQs and 5 will be NAV. Students need to answer all 75 questions. JEE Main paper 2A for B.Arch consists of 77 questions of which 25 are from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 2 from Drawing. In Paper 2B for BPlan total questions are 100 of which 25 are from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 25 from Planning.

The question paper will have no internal choices within questions and total duration of exam is 3 hours. 

Chapterwise weightage of class 11 and 12 topics in JEE Main are mentioned below:

• Physics: Current Electricity Waves AC, Magnetism, Laws of Motion Work, Power and Energy.
• Chemistry the high weightage topics are s and p block elements, Coordination compounds, Thermodynamics Gaseous state, Chemical bonding, Atomic structure, Polymers, Environmental Chemistry Organic Chemistry.
• Mathematics, the high weightage topics are Sequence and Series Vectors and 3D, Integral and Differential Calculus, Definite and Indefinite Integral.

JEE Main counselling do have the provision of mock seat allotment. JoSAA will conduct a total of two rounds mock seat allotment where candidates can check which college they get based on the choice filled by them. Candidates after registering for the counselling have to enter their preferred choice of college and branch in the order of preference. The allotment of seats will be made on the basis of All India Rank and choices filled by the candidate.

Candidates should take JEE Main mock tests at least once a week. However, in the last month before exam, frequency should be increased to 3 to 4 mock exam per week.
