The scores obtained through JEE Main answer key is marks out of 300. However, the result of JEE Mains is announced in percentile and not marks. Candidates can however get an idea of their percentile using JEE Mains marks vs percentile analysis.

Q:   How can I calculate my score using JEE Main answer key?

You can go find the marks from the answer key and response sheet. If one answer is correct, it's four marks. For an incorrect one, one mark is reduced. Then you can sum all.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?

There are two question types in JEE Main exam. Multiple choice questions and numerical ability questions. In MCQ, every question has 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Select the correct option. In numerical ability question type, no options are there. Solve them and write answer using keyword and mouse.

Q:   What is the exam pattern of JEE Mains?
A: 

JEE Main 2026 exam pattern has been released by the NTA. As per exam pattern, the JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech) exam will consist of 75 questions, 25 each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 will be MCQs and 5 will be NAV. Students need to answer all 75 questions. JEE Main paper 2A for B.Arch consists of 77 questions of which 25 are from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 2 from Drawing. In Paper 2B for BPlan total questions are 100 of which 25 are from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 25 from Planning.

The question paper will have no internal choices within questions and total duration of exam is 3 hours.

With the release of JEE Main memory based paper 2026, candidates can evaluate their performance by calculating the raw score. One must follow the steps below to calculate scores using the JEE Main 2026 April 4 answer key:

  1. Match Answers: One must compare their marked responses with the answers provided in the JEE Main April 4 Shift 1 answer key.
  2. Count Correct and Incorrect Responses: Total the number of questions answered correctly and the number of questions with the wrong responses marked.
