Till 8th standard, I was an average student and I started showing signs of maturity when I was promoted to the 9th standard. The journey had just started. It was a whole different scenario as what you learnt (talking about knowledge) in your earlier classes, you couldn’t expect that then. From this standard on, my career needed an initiator and it was me who had to take the decision of whether to take Science or Commerce. In my earlier classes, I had studied everything but that was just the beginning. The real fun began soon. Soon, I realised my lack of interest in Commerce as I was introduced to few of its subjects. They were too boring, but Science was something which I could experience in my daily life and I started finding it interesting and got indulged in it. From here on, the race to my career had started.
After completing my school education, I was in search of a college. I gave the AIEEE (now JEE Main) exam and scored 102 marks in that, but sadly, it wasn’t enough to clear it. I started filling forms for colleges, and the reputation of college as well as the distance of it from my home mattered for me. I came across SKIT in Jaipur, which is affiliated to RTU. I got admission in that through REAP and it was known to be the best college under RTU in Rajasthan.
Explore colleges based on JEE Main
The kind of reputation this college had, and the experienced faculty along with placements, were sufficient enough for me to get admission in it.
I would recommend everyone to work hard in 12th standard because that score matters when you apply for any college and even during placements, it’s a basic need. After that, one must go for the AIEEE exam and try to score well in it. It doesn’t matter if you don’t clear the JEE-Advanced exam, with the AIEEE score, you can get a good, reputed college. You can even join coaching classes but these require a lot of dedication as I had attended them for 2 years, but I couldn’t catch up with their pace, so I couldn’t attain more marks in the AIEEE exam. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do much. Even people who have not studied from an IIT are placed well. It all depends on your calibre and whether you have the potential to take that pressure, because honestly, it puts a lot of pressure as it is really difficult for average students, so choose wisely.
One of my friends is suffering now because of this. His parents forced him to join Commerce and he did that, but he was never interested and now, he complains about it. Sadly, he has no other choice now apart from managing it anyhow.
If I talk about my college, my life is good as it feels like it is your second family. You get to meet new people in a different environment. I made a lot of friends during my very first day as I didn’t like being alone. Ragging was on my mind too, but it was strictly prohibited in SKIT, so I never encountered such a situation. My college life is nearing its end as it is my final year now.
My college has a good teaching standard and it is on me now to shape my career accordingly. They are showering their knowledge on me and it depends on how I grasp it. The college even supports us to learn more and more by conducting motivational sessions.
Now, when I look back, I don’t blame myself for whatever had happened. I guess your life journey begins in your college days. All that matters is how you perform here, because these are the moments one must make use of.
Lastly, choosing the right career is very important. You have to recognise your interest, and work thoroughly towards it. It is never too late to start, dream big and achieve big.

Students who gave the JEE Main session 2 exam and want to take admission at IITs should start preparing for the JEE Advanced exam. Students with a more than 98th percentile should start to study for the JEE Advanced exam.
Those who have secured a percentile between 95th and 98th should focus more on

With a JEE Main percentile of 90.94 and CRL rank ~1.4 Lacs (female, general category), you have realistic chances in mid-tier NITs (later rounds), state government colleges, and strong private universities in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore for ECE/EEE. Top NITs/IIITs are unlikely, but good regional option

With a JEE Main 2026 rank of 400,510 (≈ 70 percentile), admission to NITs, IIITs, or top GFTIs through JoSAA counseling is not possible.

With a JEE Main CRL rank of ~79,364 and an EWS category rank of ~11,884, you have a realistic chance of securing CSE in several mid-tier NITs, newer IIITs, and some GFTIs. Top NITs (Trichy, Surathkal, Warangal, Allahabad) are out of reach, but options like NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Kota, III
