While posting on Twitter with the aforementioned hashtags, students have cited their reasons to cancel both the exams. The two primary cause of concerns are:
Covid-19 Pandemic: The growing cases of Coronavirus in India is the major concern of students going to appear in JEE Main and NEET 2020. Around 2 million (20 lakh) students in total are about to appear for both the exams. With such a huge number of aspirants, there will be a massive gathering at exam centres, which will pose a huge risk of transmission among students and their families who visit the centres. There are daily 60,000 to 65,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the entire country. Most of the students on social media platforms are sharino similar reasons to postpone the exam.
On the other hand, the authorities are continuously reiterating that the precautions taken by them to conduct these exams will address all the concerns of students. But for a vast majority of students, it sometimes seem implausible that the centre will be equipped enough to provide all types of protections to students against COVID-19. Below are few screenshots of tweets by students to postpone JEE Main 2020 and NEET exam.
Flood and alike situations across the country: According to media reports, around 900 people have died till August 17 in 11 states of the country due to the flood or flood-like situations. States such as Bihar, Assam, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Parts of Meghalaya and Maharashtra (mainly Mumbai) are worst affected. In such a situation, it will be almost impossible for students to reach exam centres and appear in JEE Main or NEET 2020, which in turn will ruin their year and preparation for the exam.
Political leaders supporting students to postpone NEET and JEE Main
With the rising demand for cancelling the two exams, various political leaders have also come to support the students on this. Subramanian Swamy, Rahul Gandhi, Mamta Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik and Manish Sisodia have requested the government to postpone NEET and JEE Main 2020 for some time. Except Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha, who wrote a letter to the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in this regard, all leaders have tweeted in support of students to cancel the exams. Candidates can go through the tweet of various leaders below:
The concerns of students are quite valid to postpone the exams further. Some students are also demanding for cancellation of JEE Main and NEET 2020, although that is very unlikely to happen. However, candidates should also prepare themselves for the situation if the exams are not postponed further. They must revise their syllabus thoroughly, and procure sanitisers, masks and face shields to minimise chances of infection.

While a JEE Main score isn't strictly mandatory for everyone, having one is a big plus. Amity University Mohali mostly looks at your school grades (merit-based), but a good JEE Main score makes your application stronger. High scores in national exams can also help you qualify for scholarships.
