After the January results, assess yourself properly and prepare accordingly and only focus on your strengths for another attempt in the month of May. I think you have enough time to judge and test yourself and your potential and if you still not make it then definitely you should not go for a drop year.
First of all, you should not worry about your results rather you should feel confident that you have appeared in one of the best engineering entrances, it does not matter much whether you made it or not but the important thing is that you have assessed yourself properly that will help in later stage of life in different competitive exams that where you lacked and what are your plus points.
Explore colleges based on JEE Main
I would not suggest at all to go for a drop year rather you can still get one of the best engineering colleges on the basis of the score which you have secured. Also, you have chances of clearing other entrances conducted by the top institutions itself and you can get the branch of your choice. Because if you prepare for another one year and in case you are not able to make this time you will feel much more depressed and you will not have options. And also after your engineering, there are many good organisations which do not allow candidates with a drop year during their education.
Nowadays, students are lucky to have two chances in the same year to appear for JEE Main. So, after the January results, assess yourself properly and prepare accordingly and only focus on your strengths for another attempt in the month of May. I think you have enough time to judge and test yourself and your potential and if you still not make it then definitely you should not go for a drop year.
Even on the basis of your JEE score, you can get admissions in top private universities of the country or the affiliated ones such as BIT, VIT, KIIT, SRM, Amity, etc. As these are premium institutions with all the facilities providing quality education and even god placements. If you are getting the branch of your interest go for it without wasting another year that will help you in the future.
Another option is that you can wait for the second or the third round of counselling. If you are lucky you will make it but first, get admission to any good institute and later if you get in NITs you can cancel your admission. As there are chances that you may get any good institute on the basis of your rank after subsequent counsellings. But try to have options unless you are not much confident in your decision that will help you.
So, at last, I would only suggest that always be happy and never get hopeless in this admission session, as this is just an exam and in now-way, this is going to decide your future, just always feel confident as there are many more to go.

Yes, admissions are possible to the BTech course at DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai without the JEE Main rank through MHT CET. Securing good scores in the MHT CET is very important. Hence, the students must work hard and secure good marks for successful admission to the BTech course.

Yes, JEE Main is compulsory to take admission in BTech at IIIT Lucknow. Candidates must fulfil the eligibility and apply for JEE Main on the official website of NTA. Applicants must clear the JEE Main cutoff for IIIT Lucknow. They have to particpate in JoSAA/CSAB cousnelling for seat allocation.

With 77 percentile, getting a seat is possible, but it will depend on the branch and the admission cycle. For highly demanded branches like CSE, the chances are usually quite low at that percentile. But for some core or less competitive branches, there may still be opportunities.

No, candidates cannot take admission in BTech at NIT Uttarakhand without JEE Main. It is the mandatory national-level entrance test for admission through JoSAA/CSAB counselling. Admission is based entirely on your JEE Main Rank and counseling round.

Yes, JEE Main is enough for Krupanidhi Institute of Technology admission. But it is not the only exam accepted for B.E. The institute also accepts CET and COMEDK score. Hence, even if JEE score is not available, students can still apply for admissions at the institute.

If you are OBC candidate then you can
1) Fill JoSSA — try for NIT Manipur/Nagaland/Mizoram in Civil or Mechanical
2) Participate in CSAB — extra chance
3) Don't skip state counselling — OBC quota there can be very beneficial
4) Apply to NSUT/YMCA — placements rival many NITs
